It's not easy to discuss things before they've happened is it? How did protecting the NHS go anyway? At the end of June 7.6 million people were waiting for hospital treatment – an increase of 100,000 from the month before and almost three million more people than prior to the pandemic. You are again missing the point. Discussing things during the period when decisions are being considered is perfectly valid. As discussing them after they have been taken won't change them, doing so just appears pointless to me as it achieves nothing other than dissatisfaction and self-righteous indignation. When there are things happening which could be changed surely it's better to concentrate on them? So for me, the discussion ought not be about why there may be 7.6 million people waiting for hospital beds and trying to dissect all the various factors that have contributed. It ought to be about what we must do now to improve things. Only if lessons can be learned from past mistakes are they now relevant, and determining those lessons objectively needs cool, careful and unbiased analysis of the kind the enquiry has been established to provide. My point isn't about shutting down debate or knowing your place, at all. It's about trying to ensure that the debate is directed towards things that could actually make an impact, rather than just blowing hot air.

But we elect our politicians to make those decisions for us so what's the point of discussing anything before it happens when "we" have no input?

This played out the way it was meant to. How many times do we hear lessons must be learnt. It's like a copy and paste. Enquirys into events always tell the same story. Absolute cover ups. People did want to discuss it at the time. We now know that governments collaborated with media sites to shut down those opinions. (first link dated November 2020) as it was obvious to many. So at the time would that disinformation be something like - you can still catch covid or you can transmit it? Fast forward a couple of years and we now know the opposite is considered disinformation. Whatever suits at the time.
Average age of death through covid is 82. But kids were being pushed this. The public health authority never even bothered to check the trial results from Pfzier before this went to market. Edited by Mattconrov (11 Aug 2023 12.50pm)

Matt Le Tissier talks Southampton FC, Covid lockdowns, and 'mainstream misinformation' Very good interview with Mat le Tissier Thanks, I've watched a lot of Matt. A top player and now to cap it all a top bloke. What I get from Matt, is that he wasn't interested in questioning things before. He enjoyed his life, golf etc. But being an intelligent man he could smell something was off. When he looked into that smell,it got worse. This is what integrity looks like. I was directly in line when salako curled it in during the evening cup game. Plus I was there when the Stoke announcer called him Johnny Salad. So apart from these threads, I'm a proper old school fan. Edited by Mattconrov (11 Aug 2023 2.33pm)

We choose those who act for us and, prior to any major decision being made, they will be aware of public sentiment. So as we aren't a direct democracy we don't have a direct input on anything but we do have an indirect influence.

From which purveyor of misleading video clips did you secure the bunch you posted earlier? I didn't watch that many. I bet no one will be bothered to watch them all. Including you. I just dipped in and out but what I saw was enough. Nothing was controversial unless you wanted it to be. Taking anything out of its context and making assertions about it can present a totally different picture to that the speaker intended. So who put them together? If you did it yourself, which seems to me to be highly unlikely, then we know you already have a position on these things and can make a reasonable estimate of your motivation. However it seems much more likely that you are recirculating and spreading things from som dubious source or other so I would be interested to know and able to check it out.

Of course, those who check facts are, in the minds of conspiracy theorists like you, all liars themselves, aren't they? Hopeless.
