Your attitude towards people, even on your own political side of the fence, who differ even a bit is frankly way over the top.....Perhaps, you don't quite realise how 'woke' you actually are. Perhaps instead of attacking him you'd have a discussion. I'm the kind of guy you should be criticising because I think what you believe in is bunk.

His solution was for footballers to come off social media so they're not a target. Literally blaming the footballers there where there are deeper issues here. Personally, if I reached a certain level of fame, I'd employ someone to handle my social media and just use my DMs to converse with people I actually wanted to/try and pick up women. But not because I believe I would be at fault for being a target, but because the system is failing to provide an alternative solution.

True, the modern day system filters the Police for political ideology more than competence. In the past the right employed the left, moderate and far left and allowed them into systems from corporate to institution because there is a libertarianism core to the right. Meritocracy within the job mattered much more than your politics. Yet it's a general truism of the modern left that they don't have those principles and insist that you view the world similarly to them. Collectivism beats individualism everytime.....Which is why the right have to ditch libertarianism....even though I respect its intent and principles. Edited by Stirlingsays (08 Feb 2021 11.56am)

I don't care what 'side' of the political fence he is - suggesting someone getting abuse is their own fault for just existing or daring to be on social media is quite clearly boll*cks. Some viewpoints are worth a discussion because they're just misguided. Some aren't because they're just utter sh*te.

I don't think it was his intent to blame people, black or otherwise. He just offered a possible solution. I also don't agree, but for different reasons from you and Dan. Even if I agreed with the left's opinion on 'racism', the argument line of telling people to change their behaviour never really works.....not unless its backed up with punishment, which I also wouldn't agree with. It's like those who think climate change can be altered if enough people started started acting 'green' or got themselves an electric car. They don't really want to acknowledge or see the holistic problem, which is too many people. Similarly the left's ideas on what they define as 'racism', just don't work and never will....well, in anything like a free society anyway. Edited by Stirlingsays (08 Feb 2021 12.15pm)

I have zero issues with you giving fortright opinions, which I'm no stranger to giving myself. But you see, I agree with all that traditional free speech stuff, the giving of offence, subjectivity and all that...the idea that protected characteristics are mostly a bad idea. Whereas with you....You think free speech should only come with criteria you agree with....the old, 'it's ok when I do it' routine. Hence I was judging you by your own 'standards'.....you know...those double ones.

You are always talking about others 'hating' when perhaps in truth isn't most of the 'hate' coming from yourself. Is the lockdown getting to you a bit Dan? I thought you were enjoying the 'stay at home' stuff actually.

I propose this evening Roy gets the boys to charge the Leeds goal from the second the whistle goes. and if (self confessed)-feminist DanH wishes to get cross about it, good. 3 points for the Eagles.
