Noted....being a socialist I'd imagine having much more debt to GDP than France would.

But we have paid for a slight reduction of the deficit with a decade of austerity, cuts to services, cost of living is out of control and we have massive personal debt. Nothing to cheer.

Austerity has merely made everything worse, expect a really tough budget in the Spring with plenty of pain down the years.

So you want to pay more? Just like people want to pay more for cars, cos that's what we voted for I'm wondering if there's any limit to how disadvantaged you're prepared to be in order to keep face and remain consistent? You must draw a line in the sand somewhere? Just seems the scales of what we are losing to what we are gaining look pretty weighty on one side. If only we could chuck something in on the gain side, the blue passport is looking a bit lonely No I don't want to pay nor will i! Don't find eu countries appealing to be honest bar from Holland and poland! We are not going to be paying more for cars unless you believe in the bulls*** press! Plus you bu buy to what you can afford! if and a slim if at that! However if the EU put tariffs on cars and people can't afford the EU card who's that gonna damage? Not the buyers that's for sure!

Mind you if you can afford a new car I'm sure 1500 is not that much of an issue. What choice have you lost? you can still buy but at higher price, as you believe will be the case! If that nonsense becomes reality I could see potentially the manufacturers who get tariffs imposed on them opening car plants in the UK! Edited by cpfc_chap (22 Feb 2019 2.10am)

Edited by cpfc_chap (22 Feb 2019 2.10am) No the opposite is happening, car manufacturers are leaving. Honda, Toyota, Nissan. 80% of cars made here are exported. Without a free trade agreement like we currently have there is no point building cars here I reslly feel the penny isn't dropping here. Whether you can afford to pay more isn't the point, why would you want to? that's the case if there's a no deal Brexit. If you advocate a no deal brexit then you want to pay more and have less choice and freedom
