Classic Palace fan outlook to see our longest run in the top flight as part of a downward trajectory. How many of our best players, first on the team sheet, will still be here? None of them. We'll be starting again. That's why it'll be really tough to get going again vs teams already there or 1/2 players away from it. We must guard our prem status but you get the feeling that once we're 3 points clear, Parish thinks we'll definitely survive no matter what.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Stadium plans' by bexleydave If the worst were to happen (and I sincerely hope it doesn't), where would £100m be better spent? On trying to get back into the PL in the shortest time possible or on a new stand that we couldn't hope to fill in the Championship. It's the same amount of money, whatever label is put on it, and pragmatism may well be more beneficial in the long run.
Bexley Dave Can you hear the Brighton sing? I can't hear a ******* thing! "The most arrogant, obnoxious bunch of deluded little sun tanned, loafer wearing mummy's boys I've ever had the misfortune of having to listen to" (Burnley forum) |

Even if we didn't get promoted for 20 years we'd still need it. The Americans won't earn any profit but screw em. They've no doubt contributed to decisions so that's the risk.

Personally I would want the investment put into the team albeit to the detriment of the stand. Although could we do both while receiving the parachute money? Would be tough. If the stand was to go ahead and we were in the championship I could see us languishing for a while.

Bit early to be drinking isnt it? Thats not what he said/meant and you know it. Edited by MonsterMunch (27 Feb 2018 9.30am) No, he said “we don't have much of a history popping back up the first season” - And by ‘history’ he meant ‘apart from when we did - but more recently it’s taken us longer’. Considering we’ve never survived in the Premier League before this run, it’s a bit weird to scare monger about history pointing towards us taking 12+ years next time, when if we are relegated, it will be a totally new situation for this club. Obviously relegation would make everything harder but Parish is trying to maintain our premiership status while correcting the decades of neglect and mismanagement of previous owners. How people can constantly imply that he’s doing a terrible job is mind blowing.

But mistakes, blindingly obvious mistakes continue to be made. He said he has learned from previous mistakes but keeps making them. Last season he got lucky, got a specialist manager in and bought our way out of trouble. This season, well what can we say about this season apart from a calamity. Some people are able to separate past glories from current that is all.

Erm, we’re on course to survive again, so quite well? Obviously mistakes have been made but the idea that any mistake is an ‘outrageous’ is so weird. The big picture of what he’s done is beyond our wildest dreams. Like quite a few clubs, we are in danger or relegation but that’s far more to do with our injury plague than the Chairman’s decisions. At the beginning of cpfc2010's reign, we were in danger of relegation to the third division but rather than whining because we deserve better, everyone stuck together and I just wish we could get some of that back.

We've been in danger all season with our paper thin squad and before the window with injuries, let alone now. Chickens have come home to roost. Is Parish & co sticking with Roy? Have they supported him despite his cries for help? No. You are just a Parish apologist. Roy and Wilf are the only reasons we are not bottom. But hey just my opinion.

So zero points after 7, yes SEVEN games isn't the reason then? And no goals in 11. We prepare pathetically every summer. That's the reason. That led to overstretching the players and then the injuries. If we prepare properly it doesn't go down this path. Hopefully the window closing earlier changes this negligence but I won't hold my breath.
