To be honest, I don't think there will be much by way of domestic repercussions. US policy has been to retreat from Afghanistan and he has followed through on that. If I was to place the blame on anybody it would be the US military/intelligence people around him. Now I loathe Biden and believe he is a fraudulent President but he has clearly been incredibly badly advised and serious questions have to be asked about who is really pulling the strings. Because there are already claims of Muslims fundamentalists starting to flock to Afganistan and when Kabul falls, the narrative is going to be all about the defeat of the West. And many Islamic lunatics are going to be, and with genuine justification, emboldened. The West won every battle it fought like it always does. But once again, loses the war. The FBI have just confirmed that there is 'scant evidence' that January 6th was an organised plot that involved any right wing groups or government input. Just remember all the liars who said and implied otherwise . Yet again the difference between reality and their neurotic outpourings is revealed in the cold light of day. Among the more notable accusers were the NYT, the ADL and Facebook.....Gab and Parler attacked...and in Parler's case practically ruined. Also the stage managed reactions by the Democrats is nothing short of its own criminality towards the truth....and considering they have people in solitary confinement because, in most cases, they walked through a publicly paid for building, while protecting the guy who actually shot and murdered someone that day shows how disfigured justice is in their hands.

That there was no co-ordinated plan on what to do once they arrived at the Capitol Building is unsurprising, as is that the likes of Roger Stone and Alex Jones were directly behind it. I don't think ANY commentator has suggested otherwise. What is undoubtedly true was that there was a ground swelling of Trump supporters determined to make their way to Washington that day, encouraged and emboldened by Trump to believe the election had been "stolen" and determined to "do something about it". I read it myself in a variety of places, so when it happened, it was no surprise at all. Alex Jones may well not have co-ordinated the action, but he certainly encouraged it. The actual storming of the Capitol seemed spontaneous, but the feelings that created it were not. They were stoked by lies and misinformation coming directly from Trump and his motley crew of hangers-on. When inside, they hardly "walked through a public building"! They threatened to harm people and entered private spaces. People ran for their lives. No-one was murdered. People lost their lives as a direct consequence of the actions of the mob and the responses of those paid to protect the lawmakers from the mob.
For the avoidance of doubt any comments in response to a previous post are directed to its ideas and not at any, or all, posters personally. |
