The BBC will be furious about the bafta's!
Liam Neesom got best actor - very straight older white male and Jody Comer a white, straight - I think - actress winning best actress!
Their short highlights online consists pretty much of Mo Gilligan - I think - droning on about C4 amongst other things.
It will be on itv soon I reckon!

David Attenborough . . . As already mentioned, to compare him to Sad DIck Khunt is obscene, you have no concept of reality. Go away you bore.

This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise.

Agreed.

But as we know he's boomer Gandhi, with millions of wheelchair/armchair fans poised to listen to his every utterance.

I thought it was Sean Bean (in which case the same description applies, plus "northern" )

OK, so you are using that as justification?

I'd say that complex issues do not belong in simplistic sci fi programs mainly for kids when presented in this way.

I accept that TV shows have been using social issues as the basis of fiction for a long time, but when, for example, Star Trek did their race episode back in the '60s, it felt far less political.

That is possibly the most stupid comment ever written on the Hol.

David Attenborough is a passionate, intelligent, well-informed, interesting and kind man who cares about the future of our planet. Not for himself, me or you, but for our grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

I have never heard him express a political opinion, right or left. Climate change is real. It's a proven fact and dealing with it is urgent. It's reality is accepted world-wide. Those that seek to deny it, to ensure their own comfort, are denying their heirs a future. He is far from a bore. He is among the most interesting people on TV.

For the avoidance of doubt any comments in response to a previous post are directed to its ideas and not at any, or all, posters personally.

More on the BBC spending our money. I forgot the beeb has just blown £80m on relaunching BBC3 chasing the yuff audience who has responded with complete indifference.

Good point about low lighting and mumbling although this is true for most other broadcasters as well.

I was simply pointing out that social or global politics have had a place on occasions in the past on Dr Who, occasions going back to the early 70’s

Justification? No not really I don’t think the politicisation of Dr Who is a overt as being painted on here.
