This morning we had a van delivery of something significantly big and heavy. The two lads on the van wouldn't bring it into the home and left it outside......coronavirus and all that. So I had to stretch muscle and sinew for about half an hour slowly inching the fecker through doorways and angles to get the stuff into place. I reckon I've pulled something and it's certainly more painful than back scratches. Edited by Stirlingsays (01 Apr 2020 2.51pm) Was it a safe (they’re fvcking heavy) for your tinned food, or materials for a fixed bunker should this continue for a long time or China start making threats if there’s a world boycott of China’s exports?

I always laugh now when I pass the Chinese take away here that’s gone out of business. Only used it twice I think. There’s a better one. Last time I bought from there I received a chicken dish with some reformed cr@p with duck skin stick to it. Duck skin? Are they taking the p1ss, as foreign businesspeople do from cultures where it’s normal to lie. Well I found out they were when I took it round there on Sunday to get my £5 back on principle for selling me something that wasn’t what I ordered worth 50p. She laughed and I laughed at her. Now their business is finished and I think flats are being developed. That’s what happens eventually to lying cheats in a culture it doesn’t go down well in and they eventually have other choices to do business with. Apply that to any size business. It’s strange how out of communism you get a minority mega wealthy Chinese but a majority of over a billion people, nearly all actually, very very poor people. We should stop trading with them as much as possible until they change certain things, starting with vermin diets and food markets. Excellent post. I remember a few years back reading a poll where the Chinese state was more trusted than the US.....I kid you not, and this was back in the Obama era. Recent events would have definitely educated more normies over China. However, this authoritarian country has taken advantage of the west's 'open' societies to infiltrate and manipulate anything they can....Russia try as well but their economy size makes them far less effective than China. Look at the WHO....recently called the CHO, 'Chinese Health Organization' instead of the World's.....Vastly more funded by the US yet it jumps to all China's tunes. Similarly you see the amount of 'cheer leaders' China has in the media. Edited by Stirlingsays (01 Apr 2020 3.16pm)

Probably worth it for them. Keep those at risk to Covid-19 tobacco smokers alive and buying.

I can assure you that this incident won't be a suppressant towards my prepping paranoia....or is that foresight. When this is over I'd say to all our Hol readers, friend or foe....don't let the b#stards catch you out if there is a next time. Shares in Andrex must be doing impressive business right now....though I'd recommend cat litter if the water supply ever stopped. When this is over I don't think China can expect to throw its weight around anymore and expect the west to 'go along to get along'. Another thing Trump has been vindicated on.

Ok, I understand that this can end up dominating threads for that beat too long so I'll say this and go back to Coronavirus. You have attacked ideas and had snipes at individuals on here many many times, as has Dan, as has Maple...This is your right.....personally I view that as the back and forth expected on political forums. Yet when the boot is on the other foot we get constant moaning about 'pettiness' and 'vitriol' and all the rest of it.....All from those who support higher levels of censorship for Hol. If you had been sworn at or physically threatened then perhaps you'd all have a point. As it is these protests just seem like attempts to close down criticisms. I certainly attack ideas and as a consequence those holding them will tend to get in the firing line too. That though is very different to seeking to find every and any excuse to attack a poster, which is what has been happening for a very long time. That's not moaning at all. It's water of a duck's back to me. It just a statement of fact. That such things are closed down is not any kind of attempt to stifle criticism. It is to ensure that the criticism is directed at the idea and not at the poster.
For the avoidance of doubt any comments in response to a previous post are directed to its ideas and not at any, or all, posters personally. |

Strange place to be exercising at 8am in the morning. 90 miles from home and an hour by train. Probably visiting people or feeling horny and stayed with boyfriend, or girlfriend. Everyone knows the rules. Don’t complain if you get caught.
