Do you post as much about our defence, midfield and attack or is it just a personal grievance against Hennessey? We may not be scoring but we're also not getting spanked every week. If he did better in the low score games such as Southampton for example, when he parried the ball straight to their goal scorer. Then we may have a few points on the board through draws. Anyway, we're not seeing the same thing at games it seems. So let's just agree to disagree.

Although I don't think its a good idea, I would like Jules to start the next two games, because I am intrigued as to what the feedback will be on here if he lets a goal in, particularly if its one he should have saved. I would expect total equality of course but somehow doubt it.

Edited by johnno42000 (24 Sep 2017 10.52pm) He is 6ft 5 Long is 5ft 11. Now I appreciate Long is can be quite dirty but if you are the size Hennessy is you should be giving those players more to worry about. The goal that sums Hennessy up for me was the Sunderland f***fest last year. First goal - Hennessy should be taking that ball and taking the player out if needed, but instead it was another limp wristed attempt. It shouldn't even get to debate about it was a foul. The problem is that because of his size he looks the part. Kind of the reverse of the whole being greater of the sum of the parts in that he should be a much, much better keeper than he is. Edited by robdave2k (25 Sep 2017 7.45am) The comparison to Longs size is ridiculous. He went down at Longs feet. Long could have been 10 feet tall or 1 foot tall, either way his feet will be in the same place, on the floor.

One of his problems is taking comments too literally. When people call WH statuesque he thinks he should behave like one - particularly at free kicks.

We must have been watching a different game. The point being though is that he doesn't command in the air either. After the goal on Saturday there was a corner come in, he goes to punch clear. No positivity, no aggression, no "wanting it" for lack of a better term. It's all very half hearted with WH. So for example. Here is the Southampton keeper with the save from Benteke - makes himself big and stands up and keeps his head up. Here is Burnley's keeper with a save from Benteke - makes himself big and stands up and keeps his head straight. Now compare those two with the first goal at Man City. WH doesn't look at the player. Not suggesting he could have saved it, but if he has time to think "hang on I might get hurt here" then he does seem to go in with that mindset. I refer you to the Sunderland goal. I don't think he is a totally poor keeper, but given his attributes he should be much, much better.
