I agree with Nige. Women who ostentatiously breastfeed their babies are the main problem and should be banished to a corner so as not to upset the older generation:

Nigel Farage says breastfeeding women should sit in a corner

[Link]

When did he say that? He didn't of course, he was asked his thoughts on it.

It's better if you leave Farage to defend the slip ups he made, rather than inventing ones in trying to add fuel to the fire.

Lighten up Stuk. It was a tongue-in cheek follow-up to the posts above by JE, st, kerm etc.

Racist.

It's rather hard to see this one post as tongue in cheek, when every post you've put in here seems to be: Farage said/did, insert link.

I probably should've quoted the other posts I was referring to so as to avoid this confusion.

But it's quite easy to poke fun at Farage when he and his party make so many gaffes - I'm sure you and others would do the same if it was a leftist party making a breakthrough in the polls. It's about subjecting ukip to the same scrutiny the bigger parties get - if they want to come into the kitchen they need to learn how to stand the heat.

Not exactly a party or political issue though, he was asked about it and gave his opinion. I'm not even sure it's qualifies as "a gaffe". Not politically correct perhaps, which I'm sure they aspire not to be.

No-one said it was a party political issue. Farage chose to do a radio phone-in and gave his view - whether it's a gaffe or not is subjective, but it won't do him much good with women voters, who ukip has a big problem attracting.

I'd like to know what breastfeeding "ostentatiously" looks like too!

I'm picturing a mum in a tutu and feather boa, dancing on the tables of a nightclub with a baby clamped to her nipple.

What about you?

Your criticism of UKIP has been reduced to their leaders opinion of breast feeding.

Do you think this has become an obsession, Seth?

It does make me laugh that there was a heartfelt plea from the left on the Russell Brand thread for the establishment not to try and discredit him and yet this thread is heavily punctuated with stories of gaffes and u turns etc about Farage and his party.

Double Standards lads?

UKIP are running for political office. Brand is not. Most of what is posted in this thread is about ukip policy, no one has actually said anything about what brand is saying by offering counter argument, they're just calling it (and I paraphrase) 'student nonsense' without getting to the crux of the argument.
