As a veteran of 18 years on HOL, my advice is to not believe that anyone is, has or will be signing for Palace until you seen them in the shirt being interviewed by Chris Grierson.

If Dazza has inside info then you can choose to either believe it or discount it...in the big scheme of things it really doesn't matter.

I always read his posts with interest but with the above caveat !

I tend to agree, but there are many of here, that take everything posted as the truth.
The reality is only a small circle know our true targets, I guess Alexander, Freeman, Hodgson and Parish. There is little benefit in making our targets widely known, I expect they release misinformation to take attention away from them.
Its up to people what they post and others to decide if there is any truth. No real harm is done to anyone.

I mostly agree but the thing is that if someone claims to be ITK but is actually just spreading wishful rumours and gossip, it can give people false hope. And then when things don't materialise in the way that was described, people can get upset at the club and feel like they were entitled to something that was never actually realistically on the cards in the first place.

As one potential example of this, dazza just recently claimed that Batshuayi is still on the cards for us. From everything I've read from people who I trust much more than him and who have long track records to prove their knowledge of Palace transfer news, Batshuayi is not realistic for us at all due to the staggeringly large wages he demands. And since our Gallagher loan seems to be about 99% certain, loaning Batshuayi isn't an option (and with 1 year left on his contract it presumably wouldn't be a very appealing arrangement for Chelsea anyway). So to me, that seems like a false rumour. You or others can think there's no harm in that and it's all at worst just a bit of fun, but if the end of the window rolls around and people are furious at Parish for not signing Batshuayi like they expected him to, then I don't think that's very fair. For all we know, Parish and co have looked at the numbers and decided long ago that a player like Batshuayi isn't within the realm of possibility for us, yet the club's transfer dealings end up being compared to a bunch of lofty rumours that were never actually realistic at all.
