Well, yes but that's not really the point. As you could do exactly the same on a bus from Truro to Falmouth I don’t see the point you are trying to make. You are making rather big assumptions about the capacity of people you don’t know anything about. People who with the right guidance, support and encouragement would be just as capable of any others.
For the avoidance of doubt any comments in response to a previous post are directed to its ideas and not at any, or all, posters personally. |

poppycock. ask a fella to rejoin his ex-wife. Only Richard Burton managed that, and it probably killed him with the stress & the booze. It’s a poor analogy. The EU is much more like a team mate who is striving for the same outcomes as you and the other members of the team. You might not always agree with the tactics but nevertheless if you pull your weight you will achieve more than doing things alone.

Catch the bus or better yet walk the route, and you'll find out. Do it after dark and it'll be even clearer.

You might not always agree with the tactics but nevertheless if you pull your weight you will achieve more than doing things alone. We joined a free trade club. We left a political block that has its own currency, it’s own anthem, it’s own flag, it’s own courts, it’s own parliament and an expansionist mindset that diluted the power of the trading founders and forced unnecessary and unwanted situations onto an ever bewildering population. It took 4 decades for the British public to be given a say on the EU membership; perhaps if we had been given a say on the important changes during that time we may still be in the EU and might be a different and more palatable beast. But the political classes knew what was best for us…
hats off to palace, they were always gonna be louder, and hate to say it but they were impressive ALL bouncing and singing. |

Not sure much can be done. A demoralised firearms unit in the Met, where their colleagues end up being named ahead of their trial for murder, will probably result in a lack of appetite to do anything other than trying to contain the problem rather than stop it. A free pass for the criminal fraternity.

But the political classes knew what was best for us… We joined an EU which continued to expand and develop. We agreed with these at every stage. Not via the discredited route of holding referendums but via the representatives we elect. We opted out of the currency, and continue to use our flag, anthem and parliament. Directly involving the public in making these decisions completely negates the whole basis of parliamentary democracy. This was shown so very clearly with the Brexit disaster. It opens up vital and hugely complicated issues to short-term politicking and foreign influences. I want our future to be decided by those we vote for, looking hard at all the complexities. We get our say every 5 years. That's the way it's intended to work. Not to throw such decisions to the winds of chance, or the desire of the Tory Party to silence UKIP or indeed to either the Daily Mail, Rupert Murdoch or Vladimir Putin.
