I just don’t know what’s happened to him. He is lost. Even if he gets a goal I just don’t think it’s in him to then go on a run. When he scored at Leicester and West Ham last season it did nothing for his confidence. Aside from aerially he is so weak and easy to dominate, a defenders dream. His all round game actually is ok but in front of goal he’s finished. I do feel sorry for him, well as much as you can for someone on £100k per week. I think he’s had enough time now. Whether we have a suitable replacement for him or not. We cannot allow these opportunities to keep falling to Benteke. It will send us down in my opinion. The pressure is going to escalate again for him, the groans are turning to boos again. Our supportive oh Christian Benteke’s are having no affect. His role as the pantomime villain will return for him. From a commercial point of view if we don’t play him and he shows no signs of recovery who the hell is going to want to buy him and for how much!? A massive financial hit.

It is really up to Roy to make that decision. As you say if he keeps getting picked week in, week out it will be Roy who will suffer. The next 4 games are crucial in relation to accumulating points with the next 4 against the bigger clubs. If after 12 games we are in the bottom 3 then based on past seasons we could have our seasonal managerial change. Let's hope we can stop the rot against the Cloggers. COYP !!

benteke is not finished, he is 27 years old FFS. hea not perfect i know that, but in the 4 games this season the oppo goalkeepers have made some serious saves to keep his headers out in every game.

he has also missed some sitters but he wont score every chance, if he did he would be playing for citeh/barca/real.

we are palace, a small PL club, we cant afford kanes/agueros/lakakus/salahs, we are where we are, and i still think bentekkers will get 12-15 goals this season.

He doesn't score from any chances! A good striker might score from one in three. For Benteke, the scoring rate must be around one in thirty or worse!

He doesn't hustle for the ball or put pressure on defenders. He can't dribble and he's too slow to chase through balls. He's good at chesting down a high ball and laying it off (sometimes). He can also head the ball to create chances for other players. But he simply can't score. He misses difficult chances and easy chances alike. He seems slow to pick up what's happening around him and he doesn't gamble on where a through-ball or cross might go. He seems to want his chances on a plate and even he misses them anyway. He may have had what it takes two seasons ago but whatever that it, it's gone, and Roy needs to recognise that instead of whistling into the wind.

He has a 4% shot-conversion rate.

Mr Parish's football knowledge seems a lot more talked about when things go well on a decision

Its a team game, but lets all blame Benteke. For me there have been a number of under performers so far this season and nowhere near what they achieve.

Luca
Townsend
PVA
Schlupp

with Benteke that's half the team, its always going to be difficult. Talk of getting rid of Roy is ridiculous.

Exactly and Wickham was a known sick note

It was Wickham instead of Murray.
Benteke came when Wickham was injured.

I very much doubt that.
We have seen how Hodgson heroically saved us from relegation last season, accordingly the club will have faith in him to revive our fortunes once again.

Excluding Fulham, LuKa has been so so , PVA quite OK, Schlupp so so in my opinion.

Benteke has been rubbish and he is in a position where rubbish translates into losing points
