But then I don't use public transport that much, once a fortnight from Bedford to norwood junction, which costs £28,which let's be fair is not a lot. That stinks. As it does on the post midweek match at Norwood junction to East Croydon with only 4 carriages. I avoid it now. Fackin dangerous, people crammed in like they're being exported to Auschwitz and the connections after it a cr&p. A long wait in the cold. Edited by Rudi Hedman (11 May 2017 5.20pm)

To be fair you are not wrong, but we don't know how much the fares would be now if it was still British Rail. When people still think of Thatcher as 'patriotic' i just laugh. All that privatisation, selling the country's crown jewels, and then deliberately messing up and interfering in the housing market for which the effects are felt up to this present day and will be far into the future. Sorry, kids that will be renting forever and having to pay through the nose for it. It was the 80's. We had barking mad, nasty and greedy people in power.

Have the tories come up with any, fully costed and internally generated, policies yet? Are they seriously going to get the papers, the sadly compliant BBC and the only too happy to help Sky to keep peddling Strong & Stable as the only thing that matters? Of course they are. Any scrutiny of their record and / or their plans for the continued rape of the country would risk everything.
Well I think Simon's head is large; always involved in espionage. (Name that tune) |

Yes, that's why it's called a debt spiral. If you wanted the debt cut or to worsen slower then you'd have needed deeper cuts and a budget surplus, or big increases in government spending but with less global demand than the time you mention under Labour. The world was in economic recession. For how long and how much do you think that increase in government spending would've worked? The multiplier effect of building public facilities isn't as beneficial as trade.

Was doing ok until it got to 25% corporation tax. I elsewhere in Europe it's almost 30% but land business rents are far more expensive in Britain. Is this across the board or are there supposed to be different levels? If this forced small businesses to close it'd stop all Corbyn's policies. He's never going to be PM so it doesn't matter anyway. He could provide May with her favourites though seeing as she can't create any of her own. (could be good to cherry pick the best of all parties IMO) Edited by Rudi Hedman (11 May 2017 8.31pm)

You've not heard about the national bank to be set up to help business and entrepreneurial start ups or the investment in manufacturing products towards clean energy. Isn't just 'public facilities ' that'll get the investment it needs.
