The performance was a distinct improvement on recent displays and the result was a real kick in the teeth. If you look at recent games against Chelsea, they follow a pattern. Decent performances but defeats in all of them. The one missing ingredient has been Lady Luck. We never seem to get any against them.

Chelsea's first half performance showed why they have been frustrating this season in spite of the multi millions spent on players. Their second half performance, encouraged by the early equaliser, showed what they can be capable of.

Palace were always destined to have little possession in the game. So it's little wonder that the team were looking tired towards the end and ultimately gave Chelsea too much time and space for the second goal. The third was on the back of chasing the game with little time left.

It's going to be a battle until the end of the season now. Good to see and hear more unity at Selhurst last night.

Disappointing result, but encouraging performance.

Wharton is a Rolls Royce of a player, will be in the England squad this time next summer. More than a match for a midfield worth well north or £200m

There was no toxicity on account of the fact that we led 1-0 at half-time and were drawing until the dying embers of the game.Supporters would have been content with a share of the points at the final whistle.

Had we been losing 3-1 midway through the second half, I very much suspect that animus would have been directed at Mr Hodgson with calls for him to be relieved of his duties.I know a whole raft of supporters who are deeply concerned about our current situation and want the removal of the manager as soon as possible.

I think Hodgson is here for the remainder of the season. We can but hope that we are still in this league come the end of the season and that Parish doesn't offer him an extension. With our awful string of home results I suspect we will be relying on events outside our control.

Good first half, Munoz a proper player, huge difference on that side of the pitch
Wharton did well throughout and seems solid enough and should improve
Franca, some exciting stuff but a but naive in places, that should improve with games
Lerma's goal, the full "Darren Ambrose". Spectacular
Defence overall good and good on the break

But, and there always seem to be a but these days. Their 1st, why do we have to concede before we know play has started. 2nd,
why are we at the wrong end of the pitch in injury time. Surely a largely defensive team defending a draw should have a few more behind the ball.
Both of those things are down to coaching and management

3rd goal, who cares, if you are at 1-2 with 2mins to go you should be up the other end

Despite losing some positives but plenty of work for the coaching staff

The point I was making is that the scoreline prevented any show of animus from supporters who are totally disgruntled and disillusioned and yearning for change.
The 'Mood music' is one of negativity.

Good performance other than some lapses on the left. Deserved a point

How can one NOT be negative about our current home record, our recent results, the plethora of goals we concede and our standing in the table ?
I appreciate I have been a doomster and gloomster on HOL but I have been in conversation with swathes of supporters who are usually positive and upbeat but even they are now disgruntled and disillusioned, some in a state of apoplexy.

Finally, I believe I made a valid point but it would appear that you are of the opinion that it was not worth making. You are entitled to your opinion !

It was a valid opinion but you have probably made it more times than I have had hot dinners this month and reading you making the same point time after time after time can get a bit wearing

The difference perhaps is that I try to take positives from situations whereby others cannot get around seeing only the negatives.

Your comment being a good example.

The world would be a boring place if we were all the same !
