Any other team in the league would have made changes earlier because it was clear Chelsea were piling on the pressure. I find it almost offensive how the clubs transfer policy has been managed over the last few season. No forward momentum and actually not even stable. Actually going backwards and fast.

By refusing to make substitutions when needed, Hodgson is running his chosen few into the ground, and that's why our injuries are so bad. Those same knackered players will start again versus Brentford on Saturday, and I expect the same result. What he expects Franca to do in the few minutes he's played I don't know. What has it come to when you don't really expect to beat Brentford at home ?

Hodgson has to go for the better of the club and Parish has some hard choices to make.

We are in deep trouble. Parish will have to act and in the summer will be Judgement day throughout transfer window ... that is if we stay up!
Big up the Palace!!!! |

On the assumption you’re correct, this is so telling and well done for digging out. We need players and a new manager. Personally, I would rather the former but if nothing changes I can’t see any way but south for us. That game was not only possible to get a point from but there for the taking. I think they made four subs before we made one. Just waiting for somebody to do something outside of any managerial influence is just backwards and beyond insane when we concede like we do. Nothing will change if nothing changes. The only thing I would say to that is the reason they made the changes before us is because we put them in a position that they needed to change because we were causing them problems. The issue is they have the players of a quality to influence the game we don’t. Ayew was changed because we cant afford not to have him if he got a card. We just need more quality players.COYP

Penalty was just unlucky but the argument is that Eze should have been subbed before that. He had a poor game. Agree with the above, is it possible Ayew was injured? I can’t see why we would sub him when eze was missing. He doesn’t seem fully fit yet eze. Schlup and Franca should have come in sooner for tired legs. Man we are difficult to watch these days, long season for us

Pulis got a tune out of a far worse squad. Roy couldn’t get a tune out of England. Yes we need better players, but let’s not pretend the tactics would change.

At this moment in time, I share these thoughts and sentiments. We are not in good shape right now, it’s a bad time. Roy has a singular style, plan, approach… whatever you want to call it, and it’s not working and looks more outdated than it ever has done. Parish has kept us up for some time now and much of that has involved making difficult decisions and taking action when necessary. Either we release funds for players and/or bring in a manager who will give us a fighting chance soon. Failure to do either of these will at best leave us fighting a relegation battle, if not just propping up those that are. I reckon he’ll wait til Brentford and see what that brings. They’re in trouble themselves at the moment with many injuries so I can’t decide whether I’d rather lose to them for the change catalyst or would just desperately take any three points now. Less than that would surely be the final straw?
Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |

Have you seen Roy’s post match interview. He is delusional. He thinks we played well. Eze was fine and we tore Into Chelsea more than they did us. I am now fully convinced he is the problem. If he thinks things are ok and more worryingly he thinks we are playing well we are doomed. He is also really arrogant when interviewed, same as after the England job. Not his fault blah blah.

It's as simple as this, Roy needs to go. His in game management is shocking and precisely why we keep conceding late goals, because he refuses to make substitutions. IF he doesn't trust our bench then he shouldn't have told us how happy we should all be with the squad after the transfer window closed, which was patently bollocks. Tonight was a tired player, who has barely played due to injury, making a tired challenge and giving away a penalty. I don't blame Eze at all, I blame Roy. Supporting Palace just feels like groundhog day under him, it was awful last time and it's awful this time too. If we're going to go down I'd rather it was having a go than with this turgid, miserable football.
Doesn't help when you play negative football either allowing crosses to keep being pumped into the box. The issue is people dont want the job and the ones that do are no better (WHy would any quality manager want to come to bargain basement club which has players running to chairman with hurt feelings)

I understand the frustration, yes and maybe Roy could have made earlier changes from the bench, but then we have to be honest there is not much on there to choose from on there and the reality is we have very few players who are good enough to play at this level, that is not his fault. The decision to bring Roy back was frankly, I fear, because he was probably the only one that was prepared to accept the job with a virtually zero transfer budget. Sadly no decent Manager will want this job whilst we have a board who think they can do everything on a prayer and fresh air. As it stands it looks highly unlikely that we will survive this year which another reason why we will not attract any good players in the next window or a proven quality Manager. It is what it is and SP is ultimately the person who has to shoulder the blame!
