Cannot wait for season to be over already. Hodgson sucks the life out of me. Appointment made no sense except to stay up and the football is incredibly boring. We never beat Everton, except under Vieira. It is 15th or 16th this season at best. What a complete waste of a season.
Given the rest of your comments, there's obviously no point in you turning up to or commenting on any future Palace games this season as you've clearly said it all here.

Edouard is like Benteke, in that he is abject sh-t, but will be playing for us for the next 5 years. I can't imagine a future where OE will not be our starting striker every match. Another poster chatting nonsense. How many times does it need to be said you need to use the strength of players both have not been used correctly. Look at the Palace striker which have been poor yet they go to other clubs and perform wonder why that is. Ed is currently our top scorer he has 6 not bad if he continues he could be close to 14-15 for the season. I see other posters claiming he had lots of chances no he didn't Palace had 4 on target all game (what stood out was he was caught offside a few times when he shouldnt have been) I have seen a fair few posts in here from southnorwoodhill and he has multi valid points.

Edouard isn't the type of player you are expecting, hardly. And yet he's our top scorer, funny that. I don’t necessarily see a decent CF as an out and out goal scorer who is always in the right place and finishes 50% of all shots as they are very rare (Kane, Haaland, etc), however I do expect them to be able to control the ball and hold it up, link up play, work the offside line, attack the ball aerially and generally make a nuisance of themselves. By the nature of their position they should be scoring double figures a season anyway so whilst I’m happy with the goals Edouard has scored I wouldn’t call it an exceptional return. I do see him lacking though in so many other areas of a decent CF’s attributes. In short I’d rather have a Glenn Murray type player back in the side, or if we want to play slightly differently a super quick small CF in the mould of Vardy or our very own Andy Johnson. More than one way to skin a cat, but I don’t think Edouard would even catch it.

Ward was perhaps caught flat footed for the first goal, but the other two goals were down to the midfield. First Lerma fails to push up meaning Doucoure is onside for Everton's second, and then Hughes switches off and doesn't track Gueye for the third. Everton were very efficient with their chances but it's also worth mentioning that their form of late has been good. This is not the Everton of the start of the season. The early goal set the tone and it was a highly entertaining game. Compared to Spuds where we sat off them and did nothing we at least tried to push. Once Olise and Eze are fully fit we are going to be a different beast. I have to agree that Everton are now on an upward curve and feel there is a wider point here..the luck in the timing of matches - who wouldn't want to play Spurs now with their injury problems ?Conversely, we probably played Wolves at a good time when they were bedding in players. Hopefully it should even itself out over the season, but as I said yesterday I thought we played pretty well and were unlucky in that Everton seem to take all of their chances, while we didnt.

More than one way to skin a cat, but I don’t think Edouard would even catch it. I'm sure everyone would like to see a primetime Murray or AJ type player in the side but this is all fantasy isn't it. The fact is currently we have what we have, and to criticise a player who has scored half our goal tally (despite all his faults) seems to me harsh. Edouard could well go on to score upward of 15 this season, and still be the player with the faults you describe. Does that make him a bad player? Or is he doing his job, which primarily is to put the ball in the net? Edited by southnorwoodhill (12 Nov 2023 12.10pm)

Edouard was played through with good passes several times. He failed to look across the line and was caught offside several times. That was the poor part of his game. A fast striker, who could be bothered to look across the line, might have had a hat trick. Conversely Tarkowski played well, as did Pickford

With yesterdays performance it is clear that Doucoure, Eze and Olise are our three key plays, and if the three of them play we can beat anyone, if either of the Centre Backs need to be sold to finance a RB and a Striker then it should be done in Jan, this is my list IMHO: Eze, Olise, Doucoure: Outstanding, irreplaceable for us. Bottom line if no money sell Andersen or Guehi, have replacement in place, then CF and RB, buy or loan to buy.

Can’t argue too much with this assessment. The telling thing for me is that Ahamada and Richards are “unproven” a year after we spent substantial sums bringing them in. That tells me Roy doesn’t rate them. The others are young and I don’t think Roy is a big fan of youth either! It feels like there’s a disconnect somewhere between Roy and Dougie. Effectively we have a first team squad of 15 players at best whom Roy is prepared to play. We can’t afford to keep paying several million for players the manager isn’t prepared to play. We need to ship these guys out. I’d settle for 1 signing in January who would be guaranteed a place, ideally a goal scorer or failing that a right back.

I think Dominic Cummings would give the most appropriate description of Anthony Taylor after yesterday’s performance! 😂
