It will be Roy for another year or Paddy, nobody else, if we avoid any major injuries and get a couple of decent loans in Jan, i think we will finish 7th or 8th, if that happens it will be about not rocking the boat. This post did make me chuckle. No way will we finish 7th / 8th. Roy's best finish 11th, occurred in his first season. Luka was the top scorer interestingly enough. New manager bounce, and the team was overall slightly more balanced than that of today.

With Everton getting a 10 point deduction, even if they are better than us, which I don't belive they are, they're definitely not 10 points better than us. Along with the other poor teams at the bottom of the table, we're pretty much guaranteed to remain in the league. This gives us plenty of time to identify a replacement for Roy. We will be a prem club and we will be fairly attractive to most managers out there. If we don't have a replacement before the euros then we should be asking what the board are playing at. They've got plenty of time and there should be no excuses. What on earth makes you think we would be an attractive proposition to any decent manager. We struggled to replace Roy last time and Viera was nowhere near top choice. Any manager coming in has little or no say on new signings as we have Dougie (well at least until he goes to Manure,) we also have no money and a chairman who wants him to be the story not the manager. I would say Luton are probably more attractive than us.

Money, the fact they will make twice the amount here than 99% of any other club in the world. Budget, you say we have no money, how much money do you think bottom half clubs in the other top leagues in Europe have to spend ? They would all love to spend 45 million and offer players 100k a week. Ambition, a manager not wanting to manage in the prem is the equivalent of a player for us not wanting to play for the big 6.

It's almost impossible to see McCarthy being appointed although having him on the coaching staff and his clear popularity gives the club a fall back and continuity. The points about foreign managers are interesting and after Nuno, Favre, Frank the Plank and Vieira why would the Board want to touch one.

If the core of the team stay fit, Johnstone, Andersen, Guehi, Doucoure, Eze and Olise i have no doudt we will finish at worst 8th, and if Roy dosent fancy another year, it will be Paddy, you know Lanzo is always right, Vieira, Eze, etc.
“That’s a joke son, I say, that’s a joke.” “Nice boy, but he’s sharp as a throw pillow.” “He’s so dumb he thinks a Mexican border pays rent” “ “Son… I say, son, some people are so narrow minded they can look through a keyhole with both eyes.”__ Forhorn Leghorn |

I watched that game last night and, if we appoint Southgate we might as well sign a load of crabs. Never seen so much sideways/ backward passing in my life. Southgate, it's a big fat no from me.

I think you are being very unfair. We were playing the mighty Malta chocked full of world class players. The game itself was important it's not like we've already qualified is it? Next you'll be telling me that Southgate should have told the lads "It's Malta boys, in a game that doesn't matter, fill your boots".
