Well we still need strikers , No I have said all along give the strikers the correct ball and they will score , still small issues but JPM did change things 2 good assists , sorry I think he meant to use his back , a header wouldn't have fallen for Eze , these silly passes happen by accident at first then you know it can come off and you try it , it is a 50/50 which way it goes ,
Jeff wasnt at the races today but thats jeff , looking forward to the rest of the season

Their keeper played well as the stats I think were that we had 11 shots on target. The most in a game since our first season back up. If that’s true then our strikers and midfield must be doing something right.

With 7 goals between them already, just maybe Edouard and Mateta have finally got their shooting boots on, at this rate they’ll be on double figures by Christmas

Mateta turned the game.
He has a role to play in the team ( and not just because there are no alternatives).
We don’t score the second and possibly third goals today without his involvement.
He’s not a good header of the ball but his bulk makes him a nuisance for defenders.
Edouard has certain strengths, but he doesn’t win headers or put defenders under physical pressure .
Credit to Eze too as that was not as straightforward goal as it perhaps first appeared .
The ball was slightly behind him and he took a fantastic touch to enable him to get the shot.

just listened to Roy after-match interview. Man he knows Palace alright.

Yep, he sure does, and he was clearly very angry with the first half performance.

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.

Great win. Nice to see them take control in the second half. Appears to be a trend this season. Although it wasn’t the primary assist, I thought Wards ball in on the Eze goal was quite a nice play, good to see the veteran can have flashes, probably was needed given his slower play the last three matches.

Looking more and more like this team will have to score by committee given there isn’t one dominant striker. Maybe someone can step up but I think it’s just the reality of this team. Just continue to make small adjustments depending on who we are playing.

Awful game.

Desperately needed to add more quality in the market and we have done nothing to improve.

Sick of same name players who don't perform being selected.

1 sub used super tactics Roy (took him long enough to get that useless lump Schlupp off)

1 sub? So which one didn’t you see come on, Mateta or Hughes? If you going to keep spouting off, try to get your facts correct

Q? Who would you start in place of Schlupp without upsetting the balance & cohesion of the team?

Someone will have to make way for Olise, and Franca will be in contention at some point.
I can't see Eze or Ayew being dropped under Roy.

We have to go 442. Midfield of Ayew Eze Doucoure and Lerma. Eduoard and Mateta up top. Schlupp was woeful again and looks incredibly unfit

We have bugger all options on the left, which is why it is so mad that we didn't sign anyone to play there. However, Schlupp cannot continue as it's like playing with 10 men with him in the team at the moment.

The only two options I can think of is Eze on the left and Ahamada in the middle, who was good in pre season. But does that then negate Eze's effectiveness?

Alternatively, play three CBs and then bin off the wingers and play with attacking wing backs. So it would be Mitchell's job to provide attacking width from the left. Of course that would mean Olise would have to play in that role.

Neither ideal.

We were somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the drugs began to take hold...

No it wasn't.

It was a lacklustre first half where we should have scored, but we dismantled Wolves in the second with some quality stuff for the goals.
Yes, we conceded two soft goals which won't please Roy, but we are seventh with one of our best players injured and Zaha gone to Turkey. Not bad.

Another striker and we could have really kicked on this season. As it is, we should do well against the bottom half and might take a few points elsewhere.
We will do better than last season simply because we won't have Vieira in charge for most of it. A better window and we could have been flying.
