It does strike me as odd that so far as we can tell no big English clubs have come in for him. For all the talk of his waning powers 2022 was one of his most productive years with 14 goals (eighth in the PL for the calendar year). The start of the last season he was looking in great shape (6 goals and 2 assists in first 13 games). He struggled to rediscover that form after the WC but that was partly due to injury. A fully-fit Wilf is still a massive player for us, but I do think if he does sign a new deal then he has to be managed better in terms of giving his body a rest. He often seems willing to play through minor injuries which while commendable is not good for his longer term health and fitness. Although his antics can be annoying the one thing I've never doubted is his commitment on the field. He clearly just wants to play football and win.
I dont think anyone can doubt that in the past, but does he still have the desire, he has the ability, strength and still enough pace, but is his mind still focused or thinking ahead
“That’s a joke son, I say, that’s a joke.” “Nice boy, but he’s sharp as a throw pillow.” “He’s so dumb he thinks a Mexican border pays rent” “ “Son… I say, son, some people are so narrow minded they can look through a keyhole with both eyes.”__ Forhorn Leghorn |

In a funny way that might remove the distraction of wondering whether he could be playing at a bigger club. I know the reported offer seems excessive, but I still think we're a better team with him in it and I think he is the sort of player that will always want to be on the pitch playing and doing everything he can to win (unfortunately that also includes complaining a lot!)

Definitely one of Everton's better performers over the last couple of years whenever I've seen them. Wouldn't be disappointed at all if we got him in for 10m.

I can confirm we are in direct talks with Everton for Demarai Gray fee will be around €10m Part of Dougie Freedman's role is to ensure that new players will fit in and from what my Everton season ticket holder friend tells me he won't as he is bone idle and frequently doesn't turn up for training which is why he was dropped by Sean Dyche

Dazza, thanks for update. Thanks Dazza, it's another piece in the jigsaw, and he still has a lot to offer in my view. We really do need young talented RB or RWB,s and magic up a decent striker for a decent price. At his best and fittest, Wilf is still a potent attacking force.

We've been linked with Gray, Willian, Hudson-Odoi, Danjuma and Saint-Maximin as Wilf replacements. Of that list I find Gray to be the least exciting and I would probably rather play Ayew on the left. Also, I reckon Everton would want more than £10m.

I Was going to Post just this; Gray, Willian, Hudson-Odoi, Danjuma and Saint-Maximin all as Wilf Replacements - and 'made Contact with...' we can;t sign all of them - if any if Wilf Stays, as all of a sudden they are a peg down the pecking order.
