I honestly think Steve Parish has got this wrong sacking Vieira is a panic sacking the last 12 games have not produced the results and the statistics don’t make good reading I understand that. Over the last 12 games we have played mostly top teams losing by a fine margin of 1:0 in each only Man Utd scored 2 against us and one was I believe an own goal.Reading on here we were all basically honest with some of the results against the top clubs. At the end of the day it the manager who takes the responsibility for the results again I understand that and maybe Vieira could have been a little more adventurous with team section . Possibly calling back some of our loan outs. But this board knew our weakness we have been crying out for squad strengthening for ages we have needed a striker for months and nothing was done even a loan would have been something in January.

After the weekend and another break its game on with more winnable games , They pannicked .

I agree with that analysis.

The loss of Gallagher was a huge blow and the never ending list of high-table opponents has given us a skewed vision of the season.

Having written that, PV's man management, odd selections and strange substitutions have proved to be not small issues.

It's timing that worries me most.

I don’t think the current squad have the fitness levels to play a high intensity game other than is short bursts.
I was at Brighton this week and for the first 15 mins we played with real intensity, but you knew that it would not be sustained over 90 mins.
For the key upcoming games post Arsenal we have to play cleverly and not ask players to do things that they are not adept at.
The likes of Eze, Edouard , Olise are not going to bust a gut for 90 minutes so you need to retain defensive solidity and try and get the better players to deliver at key moments which can be match deciding.
Easier said than done I know, but I recall in Leicester’s title winning season Mahrez was frequently their match winner when only having few touches of the ball.
His quality on the ball was the deciding factor.

Fitness, not just physical but mental, could be a reason we concede late goals. For a while under Iain & Bob Dowie we seemed fitter than other teams.

Ange Postecoglu would be my choice. We could get him if we really tried and then raid Celtic in the summer

The board wouldn't spend and that will ultimately be our and their downfall. Ironically, we may still build a new stand to accommodate the 12,000 to 16,000 supporters who will turn up to watch Palace in the Championship. PL status is hard won and earned. Once lost it may be years before we see it again. So much for the new era under Veira!!!

i read one report that the timing is Vieira's own doing. Was gonna be in charge v Arsenal but went off grid yesterday (apparently he has done a few times in past few weeks) and club decided he's not up for the relegation fight.

Interesting if true.

I have to admit one frustration I had with PV was a mysticism that came across as ambivalence very often.

As a fan you want to have some affinity with the manager and feel aligned however his aloof nature didn’t endear me as much as i tried. When times are tough as they are, you want the manager to reflect your own ‘call to arms’ or at least acknowledge the situation.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

We have lost games by 1 goal that we never looked liked getting anything from or even scoring a goal. We are shockingly bad and he would not change his approach. We lost 3 nil to an Everton side who were getting battered every week. We robbed a point against Newcastle and Brighton and the league had to apologise to them because of the errors. We are blessed to not be rooted to the foot of the table.

Our squad is our squad and he knew who is players were so no point saying he was hard done by in transfer window. He is the wrong man for the job and would have led us to relegation.

Whoever the manager is, stick to these two facts,

1. If the ball is in the oppositions half they are unlikely to score.

2. The more times the ball is in the opponents box, the more likely you are to score.

Simplistic, but true.

If Roy is taken on even temporarily that will be the last of my money Palace see until he is gone. The last year and a half of his tenure with us and then the brief stint at Watford tells you all you need to know. He is a dinosaur in modern day football and his tactics are as old as some of his post match cliche comments.

It’s a resounding no from me.
