I found myself willing a loss today so we could be done with Viera. I’m sorry to admit that.

My 10p worth.

10 years and we’ve just not progressed at all. It looked like Roy had stabilised us and last season PV would be moving us on.
But we really seem to have gone backwards and by what appears to be a massive amount.
None of us know what’s really going on behind the scenes but honestly on game day it just looks awful. I can handle losing if we put up a fight and I’m not expecting us to compete with the big guns. But where is the fight and passion. Those golden moments when we did the impossible and played amazing and for brief moment we all dreamed of European nights.
I’ve been watching and following Palace since 79 and seen some bad bad football and felt crap (none more than getting a ticket for cup final off a mate only to find it was deep in with the mancs).
All those days and nights and I just can’t remember us being this lazy, slow, passionless, clueless and just plain bad.

We have some good players, some bad but how they are being set up and sent out is a mystery. There is no way a Pulis or big Sam gets this bad with those players.

I don’t want to jump on the PV out boat but it is a worry. We won’t always have worse teams saving us.

I keep telling myself we so nearly went out of existence but how long do we stay thankful for just being here and in the Premier league. Look at Brighton, Brentford, Fulham… all looking so much better and more of a fit for league than us and I hate that.

Spot on mate.

Without intending to be backhanded and with no real spite as I am quite happy but when Hughes and Ayew, two players I’m fond of, are your best performers it tells its own story.

The two new lads look ok but even ASL strode out for the fact he was actually trying to play football.

I have no problem with Hughes, Ayew, Schlupp being Palace players. They can all do a job and I accept where we are in the footballing world that we can't have massively expensive players on the bench. But there's no way they should be first 11 every week. I just don't get it.

Freedman must be screwing. It's the kind of thing that gets a manager sacked.

We sign players, and they don't play. Why? Are they a bit s***? Surely we aren't scouring Europe to find a back-up to Schlupp, just in case he ever gets injured.

It's like my son always asking for new trainers, when there's a pair in the wardrobe he's barely worn. "But Dad, these ones are amazing." Then six months later there's another pair in the pile of pristine shoes that are too small, because he didn't want to get them dirty.

Although I'm pretty sure Lokonga missed the ball at one point, which wasn't massively inspiring. Maybe we do just sign players who are a bit s***. Seems a strange strategy.

Well, I'm chuffed to bits! We got a valuable point against an in-form and very good team. A little jammy, maybe, but so pleased for Steve Tomkins who was in the right place at the right time.

Not a pretty performance but we were without Anderson, Zaha, Richards, Wardy, and gave a run out to our two new midfielders. Great to see McArthur on the bench too.

And despite this we didn't lose to Brighton - what a great result - I'm celebrating!

As for relegation, definitely not this year. There are more than three teams who have bigger problems than we do.

With our limited budget we are performing a flipping miracle!

After 55 years of supporting this club I know that this is the longest period of success we've had, and Palace continue to exceed my expectations.

Patrick Vieira is still a novice in PL tearms but I'm enjoying the football so much more than the Roy Hodgson years.

It seems most have now started to sing from my hymn sheet now, yes, we would all like more investment, but the two with the money arent interested, the bottom line is we have an unbelievably crap manager and no investment would make him a good one.

So feels to me that there is no spirit in the team. Hughes and Ayew are the only two players who seem to care, although I feel Olise and Eze care, but just get zero guidance from PV.I believe PV has a style of management which is far too intellectual for our players (and most UK players)The players have no idea what to do as a result and it shows. I miss the 'Blood and Guts' approach of Pulis and Allardyce. At least I believed we could win every game !!

The game played out as expected with Brighton largely dominant.
I thought we competed reasonably well, but we really lack threat in the forward areas and the only way we were going to score was a Brighton mistake which fortunately happened.
We have to hope that Zaha returns in some sort of form and that we manage to keep a few clean sbeets.
A few of our players just aren't of sufficient quality.

Not taking the p**s , Lanzo - just delighted with the point against Brighton. And I have an optimistic nature.

There are times when your criticism could be a little more nuanced.

You've decided you don't like him, and so you blame everything on him.

Personally, I don't think the squad is good enough. But I agree, the quality that is present does not appear to be in an environment that allows individuals or a team to flourish.

I would love to hear Vieira's genuine, honest assessment of where he's trying to get to, and what he believes the reasons are for the current failure. But that's never going to happen.

I came to the game thinking it would be hard to not lose

I was pleased we got a score draw

Yet………………..

Does Patrick play back the game to the players in the week ?

The same mistakes made -

1) sit back wait for opposition to come at you

2) only score from set pieces

3) seemingly zero connectivity in midfield

4) the passing is junior school level - Brighton out shone on movement & passing

5) their keeper was never stretched/ tested

6) no on pitch Leader

I find it hard since disastrous game at Everton
Today I did not call out I just laughed & laughed
I look & see next 4 teams below us are winning & winning & from open play

A repeated sub standard performance & yet we get a point - WOW

Forever Palace Proud

If anyone needs cheering up, Southampton's result is quite funny.
