There is nothing wrong with most of the players, a good CF is obviously needed and i am not sure what Doucoure adds, he cant read the game, cant pass, and is too lightweight.
The problem is as i have said numerous times is we have a rubbish pair in PV and Roberts, Cant motivate, cant organise, does he have any ruthlessness in him at all, he is too pally with the players, get rid of them both and make Freedman Manager with Derry assistant if not get Dyche.

Are you watching the same Doucoure as me? Was at the game, he was our best player imo. Gets no help from Schlupp, does the dirty work well. Yesterday he was driving firward more but unless your colleagues decide that, making runs off the ball may be a good idea, what can he do?
Beggars belief that Schlupp is being picked over Hughes

You’re kidding right? mcTominay is atrocious.

Who would you get who is theoretically available? Or do you think we're currently good enough so need no-one?

That's not the fault of the loan system as it's the fault of the club's management in not replacing a key player whether by purchase or a further loan and that's without mentioning the non replacement of another key player in Kouyate

Agreed. Letting Kouyate leave and not replaced was criminal. If we don’t get an PL ready midfielder in during January we will be in trouble

I honestly don’t know. But I’d rather take a punt on an unknown quantity than a terrible known one. Give me Doucoure and Luka/Hughes over McTominay any day.

A night of utter disgrace and capitulation which follows on from the debacle against Fulham.I was molten with anger,self-combusting,steam coming out of my ears, unable to bridle my tongue.

Thee are a few points I would like to make :

1. I am considering whether Guaita could have been more assertive on the opening goal. The ball was in the air and headed in from close range - Could he have come and either plucked the ball out of the air or punched it to safety ? Perhaps if I look at the television pictures or the 'Highlights' I will be provided with the answer.

2.Second goal - Both Ward and Schlupp were standing off Gil, neither getting close, no challenge and he could easily find Kane who was in acres of space and perhaps Guehi could have left his defensive berth and put the England striker under pressure.Kane allowed time and space to shoot into the net !!!

3. Fourth goal - Guehi not strong enough and my mind cast back to that last minute goal by Maupay after Guehi was found wanting at a long ball.

4. Eze has become just a luxury player not contributing at all.Flashes of brilliance now and then but overall disappointing.
I suspect he looks World Class in 5 a-side games.

5. Vieira has clearly lost faith in Eduoard and Mateta preferring Ayew who I think has scored 3 goals in his last 55 games for the club! These are our central-striker options !

6. Two full-backs with a combined age of 64 with the right-footed Ward playing at left-back.

7.No playmaker in midfield, no creativity in this vital area, just get the ball out to Zaha and Olise who by the time the ball reaches them are marked by 2 players.

8. YET AGAIN - Slow start, passive, not pressing or moving the ball quick enough. What DOES PV say to his players before they leave the dressing room ?

The team have digressed alarmingly and when one ponders the next 6 games one is left with a feeling of utter dread and foreboding.
Nottm For are improving under an excellent manager,I believe that Wolves will improve under the experienced Lopetegui,West Ham will improve etc etc, I have little faith that we will do the same.

For the last half-an-hour of the first half we played really well with Eze, Zaha and Olise linking up really well. The second half was the Harry Kane show. With Doucoure not having his best game and Schlupp awful (being hooked pretty early by Vieira's standards) Kane had too much freedom to roam. I would say Andersen was the only defender who looked solid, with Guehi being too soft for Son's goal (not the first time that's happened). Ward worked hard but Spurs had a huge amount of space for Doherty to inhabit, which given Spurs love a cross was a massive risk. Clyne also looked unusually nervous. On the plus side the players kept trying even when we were 4-0 down which shows the spirit is there, even if the performances are erratic at the moment.

Overall the score line flattered Spurs, but we made it too easy in the second half and it once again highlighted that we are in dire need of another defensive midfielder and someone who can put the ball in the net. I worry about the Newcastle game if we don't bring someone in before we play them as they'll bully us. Hopefully the one positive to come out of last night and the Fulham and Forest games is that it will prise the club's wallet open.

I haven’t seen such an atrocious 45 minutes since Sunderland put 4 past us in the first half some years back.

As I suspected, beating a very poor Bournemouth team only papered over the huge cracks appearing in our squad.

Last night was the start of a really tough run of games. Based upon the Forest, Fulham and Spurs performances it’s hard to see us getting even a point from our next 4 games.

I have some, albeit diminishing, sympathy for PV. He’s starting to resemble other Palace managers, being starved of the resources he needs.

But until such time as we get reinforcements in, if indeed we do, PV needs to make us harder to play against. Many on here think that Clyde and Ward are past in and yet they find themselves under constant pressure because we have 2 players in Ebs and Olise that contribute little out of possession, The selection of Schlupp remains a mystery. And it appears that both Mateta and Edouard are not considered worthy of a starting place.

We are beginning to look like a club in disarray.

I once had hope that Eze would progress and become a key player, but it seems to me that it's not going to happen, for whatever reason. As I've mentioned before he reminds me of a kid in the playground who was very skilful on the ball but bone idle off it, and whose contributions overall were therefore negligible.
