This can only be said if he wasn't involved in the decision to award it, I feel having seen the actual pic VAR used to decide I'm somewhat confused still as it's impossible to tell when the ball was actually kicked when comparing both images, this also includes the lines they draw to confirm their decision.

It is almost as if they make a decision then move the images and lines to justify it.

The decision on when the ball is actually kicked and the position and timing of player movements would be calculated mico points of a a second/micro-millimeters by the computer and then the evidence will be presented to the operator, it's probably much quicker than the naked eye can see, in the old line of sight days we may have got away with it but with VAR it's not possible anymore and in the end the critical decisions in a match are overall much more accurate. This method has been well proven in tennis to work over many years. I fully understand people's frustration when these decisions go against you but over the course of the season some you win and some you do not!

Players from the lower leagues don't get anything like the number of opportunities that they used to. And while Brentford have a scouting operation that has paid dividends, plenty of clubs were aware of Ivan Toney but Brentford were brave enough to take the plunge and buy him. Brighton's main success has been buying young players from abroad, not the lower leagues in the UK.

Fully agree, I responding to another post!
I agree that looking at our league position at the moment should not be a reason for complacency as I said in an earlier post on this thread. We need at least two, preferably three players that are ready to compete for a starting place because too many players are getting selected as there is little competition for their places.

What we need to do is get spies in the Brighton and Brentford camps, find out who they are interested in and beat them to them!!

Isn’t that the same as before VAR?

What has that got to do with anything, do you not think that Bobby Moore, Bobby Charlton, Bryan Robson, Roy Keane etc. didn't know a lot about football, but they were all awful managers, PV still has a lot to prove himself a good manager yet

I was more referring the way you, I and most fans comment on team selection and tactics...as if we're the expert. As if PV is missing something. As if he's suddenly going to wake up tomorrow morning and say, "wait a minute, Jeff Schlupp isn't a centre midfielder. Silly me." Everything we're considered was probably considered six months ago by the team - they've got more analysis/tech than we've had hot dinners.

Do you think we would have played better with:
Edouard
Wilf Eze Olise
Doucoure Luka/Hughes
Or
Wilf
Eze Olise Ayew
Schlupp Doucoure (forests lineup)

Playing players out of position is never a good call, is it?

Do you think that Vieira, at a level be it conscious or sub-conscious, took a look at the fixture and Forest's lowly position and -20 goal difference, and thought to himself: "I can experiment here. I wouldn't do it against a mid-table team, but I can do it here."

Maybe, you could be right, but why didnt he alter it as it was clear it was a car crash, espescially as he knows 1000 times more than we do

A '' car crash '' - a 0-1 defeat to a team that beat Liverpool recently, where we missed a penalty and conceded a goal that I and others think was offside. Stop being a Drama Queen.

Most of your posts contain snipes at Vieira, it's wearing a bit thin now. I'm sure you could find something else to moan about if you put your mind to it !

TBF NEILLO, I was thinking the same thing as far as it being a 'car crash', although that's not the wording I'd of opted for.

A game against a team almost literally thrown together in the summer, bottom of the table, conceding goals for fun, a club newly promoted, having 0 shots on target despite a penalty, 69% possession, being dominated in midfield by a player we deemed surplus to requirements and just a subjective opinion but awful, gutless display.

It's not a dismissing of Vieira but a criticism that's for sure. For all the good he still has a lot to learn and that was one of the worst Palace performances I've seen for a while, quite probably only equalled by Newcastle days earlier (We missed 4 penalties in as many days in case it's not been mentioned).

IMHO for some clubs, including NF, the WC coming now is even worse news. For us I think it is a God send.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!
