I get the feeling we may well have to become a talent finding, selling for profit club going forward. We've seen the likes of Southampton, Leicester, BHA etc utilise this model previously. As much as I would like to see the likes of Olise, Edouard, JPM, Eze, Doucoure, Mitchell, Andersen, Guehi and maybe even others stay at Palace, continuously improving for the next 5 years I think it is unlikely to the extent of impossibility. We may have to take the big sums when they come for a sustainable model, us not being strangers to financial nightmares! I agree and presumably the owners are looking at the academy players to fill the void and then possibly get sold on. Unfortunately this is what football has morphed into for clubs of our size

Ayew is probably one of the first names on the team sheet, because of his energy and sheer nuisance value. Other teams can see it, as they often double up on him. He draws fouls and allows us to draw a breath and regroup. He is often available for the out ball. He might have been signed as a striker, but has developed into something quite different, and very valuable. Which is just as well, as he isn't an effective striker! I just wish he could look happier! I agree, we wear saying exactly this at the game yesterday. He took a few nasty knocks, just wished he would have acknowledged the crowd when heading to the dressing room

I thought that about Wilf too. He looked as if he had a cold. He was certainly off his game, slow of thought, misplaced passes and poor decisions. I was a little surprised he played the full game. Agreed having seen the problem he was obviously having. At one point I did not think he would start the game. I am always in the ground for the warm up and he was certainly not involved as normal

After Dermott Gallagher said last week that he thought the yellow card for handsy Thiago was the right decision, this week he says Doucoure should have been sent off for his challenge that got a booking. Thank god he's retired!

Thank god he's retired! My view is that a yellow was the correct decision and I believe I articulated this on HOL.

I wonder how long it will be before one of the big boys recognize his potential and put in a bid we might find difficult to refuse.
