You all just need to chill players return in just over a week, things will be announced soon. Expecting 4 to 5 signings 2 off which are completed as I said at the beginning of this post. Just wait & see. Plenty of time.

Makes you think what's going on behind the scenes on the goalkeeping scene. I thought Butland had done quite well, and is Johnstone really an improvement on him? You would think that Palace would like Guaita to stay as number one for at least another year...maybe two....Or maybe he wants to go back to Spain while he still has a couple of years left in him. I think Guaita has definitely been one of the best keepers in the Premiership in recent years and has kept us in games for good points.
He certainly looked good for Baggies the previous season in the PL behind a very poor defence. Edited by doombear (19 Jun 2022 11.20am)

This thread is very disappointing, apart from a few positive posts from Dazza, its full of grown men bitching like little girls in the hope of one upmanship. I believe that the lack of other discussion brings the modi operandi of certain individuals into clearer view. Some people debate, or even argue, with good humour. Others don’t see that as what they want from this board.

Does Ebowei make 3 Dazza? Well I did hear weeks ago that we had signed him but then went very quiet I even told my family & work colleagues that we had signed him but it was from the same source that told me we had signed Enketiah & we all know how that ended up so quite pleased I do not post this on here otherwise I would have been crucified. The other info I have is from a more reliable source so we will see.

That’s simply because everyone is getting bored/anxious at perceived non activity in the transfer market/window - calm down...!! I have absolute faith that things are happening - probably have already happened but not announced - as Dazza has alluded to..!! The Board, PV and Freedman will have identified where things need strengthening - it’s not rocket science: a right back, another centre half, a CDM and possibly a forward. Then looks like we’re looking at shipping out Butland for Johnstone. Maybe a few others but will depend on availability, opportunity and the right terms - on that I haven’t given up hope of seeing Gallagher in the red and blue next season - why - he’s in the England squad and will want regular football to cement his place in the World Cup Squad - I’m not convinced Chelsea can offer/promise regular football for Connor - time will tell. Meantime I like the way we do our Business - quietly but effectively, then only announce when we have something “real” to say - unlike some of the other muppets - Everton for example make me laugh they’re under FFP restrictions but if you believe what you read they’re in for everyone - it’s all click bait they can’t buy anyone in their current position. I look at this way - big dogs don’t bark - until there’s some real action..!! COYP POSSIBLY a forward? Absolutely has to be the #1 priority for me.

I think we will see a couple of announcements of new signings by the end of this month. There may then be a couple of further signings later in the window. That, though, will depend on how much money we have in the transfer kitty.

Accepting that McArthur will probably only manage 20 starts, I reckon the rest leave us close to the bottom 3 in the league in terms of central midfield options - Kouyate hasn't signed a contract yet. A proven Premier League striker in our price range doesn't exist, so buying one that ends up being an upgrade is a complete gamble, whereas we can comfortably buy midfield options that we can be extremely confident are upgrades.

Yep I'd fully agree. If we make 4 decent signings elsewhere I'd be more than happy. Doucoure bonus would be the young winger from derby.
