With all the crap going on,why don't the club just bite the bullet and move up the road to the Crystal palace athletic track and build a purpose built one that suits all!!

Because the NIMBY's put the kybosh on that one years ago - let alone the added problems of having to deal with the 4/5Local Authorities that all border the Park!

A stairway to Heaven and a Highway to Hell give some indication of expected traffic numbers

Don’t worry. Total bollix. Hateful stirring bunch of whining nobodies at Inside Croydon. As said, this is a puff piece, there won’t be rioting in the streets. This is heading rapidly to a compulsory purchase order.

Am I right in thinking that only 1 house is privately owned, the rest were Council but now Housing Association? If the HA are happy and so is the 1 owner, would a CPA be necessary? Article also wrong about the height of the stand
Why is that paper anti-Palace?

That was years ago. It’s all Bromley Council ( nightmare but which isn’t?).
If we got together with the Thai consortium who wanted to re instate the Crystal Palace at the top of the park as a shopping centre, the park could have massive parking facilities at multiple entrances. Plus new sports facilities, hotels and apartments AND keep plenty of parkland. Currently the place is virtually derelict. A real health and safety nightmare.
CPFC could help create something really special which would hugely benefit locals.
It’s got it’s own railway link/station and where the current stadium is we could build a magnificent stadium modelled on the new stand proposal for Selhurst and more. A 40,000 seater there would be fantastic and elevate us right to the top. With Dexter Harris and Blitzer money they could create one of the best football parks in the world.

A CPO was threatened on Sainsburys for its use of a ransom strip. The threat comes from the Council and should be sufficient to force a deal without an actual CPO

Inside Croydon has zero morals and will do anything for attention without presenting balance. Shame as Croydon is fertile ground given its history.

CPA is an Association

This is to take capacity to 34,259

I did mean CPO, typo. I knew about the threat to Sainsburys, I thought you were talking about a CPO on the houses

I did not know about the Thai consortium. This sounds like the obvious solution and I do not understand the locals, whilst I accept the increase traffic on matchdays, eventually this area will be developed and they may not have much sayin what is built there

What with the residents and sainsburys we are still a long way off having a football ground that has a capacity thats needed (unless we rip the seats out )
We have been talking about this stand since Ron Noades showed the plans for it in the early 90's . 30 years later (just to put it into perspective ) we still have the same infrastructure he left us with .

It aint happening

I think you are right, that’s why I was agreeing that perhaps it would be a good time to revisit CPP

As above, once the sainsburys issue is resolved then it’s game on - I’d expect it to be completed within 3-5 years once that final hurdle has been cleared.

Revisiting CPP now would be insanity. You’d add at least another decade. Plus, as has already been public ally demonstrated, is completely unworkable.

Did you know? 98.0000001% of people are morons.

I'm going with starting in 2023 and finishing in 2025.

Agree with start date, but, due to train strikes, covid-27, Brighton sacking their manager & tfl enforcing a cycle lane with kerbs, can't see anything happening, ever.

This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise.
