I don't mean to start a Mateta moan but that was £10 million wasted which could have gone to buy a better but more expensive player. He is just too immobile, worse than Benteke. The final cross, from Ward I think, just needed someone to move towards it.

Someone like wilf.....

I only saw the first half , fell asleep for the second (true story).
Do our strikers practice scoring goals in training?
Eduard put a lovely ball through to ayew, one on one and he can’t even hit the target, you’d get slated for that in Sunday football. We’ve got 4/5 strikers that are all reasonable (none any better that reasonable) at the areas of play that don’t include scoring goals. At actually finishing chances they are all f*cking useless.
Actually every Palace player (Gallagher is a Chelsea player) , are a joke in front of goal. The 2 big lumps at the back are pony at attacking the ball , no point us even getting corners.
The midfield just smash the ball over the bar from the edge of the box and when the forwards miss they don’t even look surprised.
If that chance fell to Antonio, Bowen etc they win one nil.
The same people on here arguing for benteke, mateta etc, all your favourites are f*cking wa*kers and shouldn’t be called forwards.

Take conors goals and assists away and we’d be bottom 3.
I started this post quite reasonable but have got more wound up as I have been typing.
They are f***i*g sh*t in front of goal though aren’t they.

Don't hold back As you mention and I posted elsewhere, imagine for one moment where we would be without CG and his early season performances.

I agree.

Missing the chances these top elite professional miss in front of goal in the amateur game gets you slaughtered and cussed with regularity. I don’t get how these players miss so many chances and how so many are off target when I watch week in week out on Palace TV these guys scoring goals for fun in training.

Why can’t they transfer the same techniques and coolness in training onto the pitch on game day?

Did Schlupp play second half. Never heard his name mentioned...

Agreed, Ayew makes sense against the bigger clubs as he works hard and makes us tougher to beat. But Brentford were absolutely there for the taking and that selection showed them far too much respect.

Also, please never play Schlupp in central midfield again.

Don't get the comments about Mateta, put a good shift in when he came on and we looked more dangerous with him on the field.

0 clear cut chances in two games v Brentford and Norwich. Not sure what else can be said as that is completely unacceptable. We're doing absolutely nothing with our possession when teams sit back and invite us to break them down.

I thought Wardy did well.

He will still be at it next year he defies time.

Apart from that it's good to have a nap through a Palace game.

My kip was nearly ruined by Mateta's late appearance.

The lack of desire was terrific.

Terrific, is that how you really see it or is that a vain attempt at ironic?

I have one piece of good news to offer:

Brentford are awful and unlikely to get more points than us by season end. We just need two more teams to be worse than us and we will be ok!!
