Also did the handball law not change to its only hand ball if it hits you between your elbow and hand it hit his bicep ffs .

Wasn't conclusive at all was it, considering this they should've moved away and thought about whether Luka was preventing a goal scoring opportunity ....and he clearly wasn't, he was just having a fight with the ball all on his own.

It's about time they really sorted out this free shot on goal lark, penalties should only be awarded when a clear goal has been prevented, everything else should be a free kick in the box, too many games are decided by ridiculous moments where the ball wasn't anywhere near being banged in.

Proud of the team. A pleasure to watch the players, not the referee.

1) Still don't understand Luka's role as captain.
2) We played more fluidly without Wilf.
3) Hope Olise learns to defend quickly. On the ball, he's scary good.
4) Edouard creates more good chances for himself and his teammates than Benteke.
5) If Mateta's overhead had been on target, the man would officially be a Palace legend.
6) If Wilf had played today, would we have had as many good chances? Would we have scored 3? My gut says no.

Love the spirit of the players and their manager.

You cannot be serious.

Team selection not PVs forte.

Good performance marred by sloppy moments at both ends.

If only that bicycle kick from Mateta had gone in, wow.

Luka's hand ball I think the VAR and referee are both wrong it is not a handball under the current changed law.

Whatever, it's too late now.

Really we should have had a point at least here.

Nor does Luka!

I thought he played well, penalty not his fault especially when considering the ball was bouncing and spinning all over the place thought he played some lovely balls into the box including corners.

Stats show that the opposition fouled us seventeen times with us fouling them only six, I wonder how many of these fouls prevented us from entering their box? so rather then having a go at our squad maybe something should be done to prevent teams from benefiting through cheating, it is time for the sin bin.

You truly are a wind up merchant. He was terrible, off the pace, poor passing his corners never get past the near post and his free kicks rarely hit the target. He is no longer PL standard.

Moyes pleased with his 'strange' win.

He probably has doubts about the handball as well.

Have to agree…not quite sure what has happened to Luca, but his form has tumbled. Just shows how a player can go from hero to zero! I remember a few years ago he was the first name on the team sheet - but now, there is a huge groan when he plays. As others have pointed out, we now have much better options.

Can’t ever remember being so pleased and encouraged after a defeat. We were far better than against Norwich and I’d say it was actually one of our best performances of the season.
Ten thoughts:
1. Edouard is a dazzling talent. I’m not sure he is properly appreciated.
2. We have never felt as Wilf-proof as we do now. I still adore the guy but we can cope without him.
3. Ayew has been in incredible form lately and was superb today. Seeing him go off in tears was tough to witness. Is his Afcon dream ruined?
4. Andersen passed it like Hoddle tonight. What a player.
5. Mitchell looks tired. We lack cover at LB and that’s the only bit of Jan business we need to do.
6. Can we go a bit easier on the refs? He should have booked their left back earlier and bottled the backpass but the abuse was excessive.
7. Olise is so exciting. The way he cuts inside and delivers killer balls is great. Just what we never got from Andros.
8. We all love Joel Ward but let’s be honest - he just doesn’t offer enough going forward. We desperately need Ferguson to be the player we hope he is.
9. Luka was not as bad as everyone is saying but we miss Kouyate every time he doesn’t play.
10. Schlupp is not good enough to play for Palace.

I thought Hughes had a terrific game. Likewise Ayew.

Considering he hasn't played much I thought M'vic did pretty well.

And that triple (or was it quadruple?) save from Guita was out of this world, especially as one of our defenders was sitting on his head at the time. Hope they show it on TV. He was a bit unlucky not to save a well-struck penalty.

Cracking game, and credit to our fans for giving it everything right to the end.

How long did it take them to decide it was a penalty from when the incident happened.?Must have been a good 5 minutes. Then the ref kept playing it back until he decides to change his mind.

Does that point to it being inconclusive that it was a definite penalty. In the end what was Luka doing, there wasn’t a player within 5 meters of him…

Sh*** result - but really heartening performance, against a top 6 team.

I reckon we’re a couple of quality additions away from being a really decent outfit. And when your opposition are saying we’re playing “incredible football this season” you know we’re heading in the right direction - and we are playing some great stuff!

I do feel though that it’s tIme to look beyond Ward, Luka and Benteke now as starters and if possible strengthen those positions.

If our business pre season is anything to go by then I have absolute confidence that we’re in for some exciting times ahead! COYP!
