Superb ball from Mitchell (becoming a real talent) to Edouard for the 2nd and an excellent finish by Mateta, who has not had a lot of of opportunities but unless we have someone better lined up, he should be kept.

Three points very welcome. I fear I will be shot down, but that was our first team defence and I thought we looked very poor defensively against a very weak Norwich team. We have to play far better than that if we are to avoid a relegation scrap this season. On the plus side Hughes, Edouard, Mitchell all looked very good going forward. Much bigger test on Saturday against Wet Spam. I agree with you, although a welcome three points against a very poor side I was alarmed at how many chances we let them create against us.I hate to think how many goals we could have conceded against top half strikers..We were very lucky not to have conceded at least two today if not for Vincente’s super save and Wardies great block. On the plus side,a win is a win.

This should be adressed in the physio room not on the pitch! Lol, but surely if he lacks impotence (which is what was posted), that's a good thing, isn't it? Hence I didn't understand the original comment.

You do realise how much we will owe if he stays? Pretty sure we could spend that money more wisely.

“That’s a joke son, I say, that’s a joke.” “Nice boy, but he’s sharp as a throw pillow.” “He’s so dumb he thinks a Mexican border pays rent” “ “Son… I say, son, some people are so narrow minded they can look through a keyhole with both eyes.”__ Forhorn Leghorn |

His deal(as far as we know) states we have an 'obligation' to buy him for €15m if he starts 15 games, today was his 4th, I believe. Mains dont want him back, cant afford his wages, St Etienne want him & he wants to go there, but, even they cant afford his wages. So, like I said rock & hard place, can we even send him back in Jan? Trouble is, he takes up a valuable loan spot.
This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise. |

Yes, what a block. This is what I want to see from palace defenders: bravery. If I see a player turn his back then that really makes me think he shouldn't be in a Palace shirt. A true Palace player, Wardie, imo.

It was a decent display and a very important result even though it was against a poor Norwich team missing crucial players (as were we).

It was a rare treat to see the game won by half time, allowing the tam to coast through the second half and hopefully save som ebergyt for Saturday. Yes Norwich were poor and in the final third showed why they are likely to go down but we did the job we needed to do.

Just watched Roberts on his after match interview, I thought his answer as to why Gallagher was omitted from squad was somewhat evasive, did not say he was injured or unwell, strange

I guess that since we play again on Saturday, you don't want to give away too much information to the opposition. If he says it's covid, then West Ham can prepare to play against us without him. Originally posted by m/k mick
