It's guilt by association. Something the modern press obsess over for clitbate. The response by these footballers is disappointing if predictable and was probably handled by their club's PR team. If I were them I would have told the press to 'feck off, and I'll have a photo with whoever the feck I want and it doesn't mean I agree or disagree with them on anything'. Next they will call Jews listening to Wagner antisemitic. Edited by Stirlingsays (26 Jan 2022 9.25am)

Edited by Stirlingsays (26 Jan 2022 9.25am) In Curb Your Enthusiasm, Larry's fellow Jewish neighbour asks him angrily if he was Jewish as he was whistling a piece of one of Wagner's operas and Larry replied 'you wanna see my p****?'

Wiley is an interesting one because he doubled down on his perceived anti antisemitism to an almost surreal extent on account of the media attention some of his comments drew. By the end of the debacle untethered rants about Jews seemed just about all he was capable of espousing for a time. No doubt the media loved that, but it's a shame he allowed himself to be suckered into that mentality as initially all it was, was ignorance and misplaced anger on account of a disagreement with with management. Here I tend to agree that anything akin to an apology or elaboration is pointless. Ultimately spending time with someone isn't any kind of endorsement of their entire world view. He's a musician, what are they expected to do? Plug their ears? Run out of the building as soon as his performance ends? They actually appear to have handled in decently in terms of how they replied to it. These things blow over quickly as long as you operate by principle rather than act like you've committed crime of the century when you haven't. Nobody will be talked about it in a couple of days time.

I see that Sinn Fein are apologising for three of their members of the NI Assembly making derogatory comments about protestants in ten-year-old tweets.

If Andrew Lawrence is right....and I've only heard this from his stand up....then Brighton & Woke's little innocent children have critical race theory coming their way.

Just a 2 week suspension for outrageous comments, still at least no rioting on the streets! Surprise surprise

Shame his k*** didn’t slow him down! Totally unfair on female swimmers. If the Olympics go down this route, it is the end of them as an organisation imo.

Several articles in the media about the double standards applied to her versus others who have been sacked from the same show. The main difference though is she is the star that people want to see ,so bums on seats, twas ever thus.

I liked this bit: "On Tuesday, Ms Thomas' teammates released a statement supporting her. "As members of the Penn Women's Swimming and Diving team and teammates of Lia Thomas, we want to express our full support for Lia in her transition," the team members said in a statement provided to US media. " So all good then everybody happy? Not quite even the BBC had to admit this bit: "According to ESPN, it is unclear how many teammates supported the unsigned letter" So they support her so much that none of them will publicly say so however some of her team mates have publicly criticised her. So how many do support her many? None?

Regardless Goldberg embraced woke like a life jacket, as I remember the Goldberg of the eighties and nineties as a quite different version.
