Well yeah. But glad it wasn't just before our game.

In the last 20 mins we changed from playing up from the back with Guaita kicking the ball upfield every time he had the ball and that helped us to up the game with a last minute goal. Playing from the back had risks and Everton did capitalised scoring one back and could have score another if we persisted with playing that way.

In addition to all the psychological aspects of game management, especially when playing with a lead, it looks as if PV is also figuring out tactical management as he gets to know his players better. It was good to see things work out well today, given we only wasted about 10 seconds before losing the ball in the corner with 3 minutes remaining.

The only way we can afford to keep Gallagher, who won't look as good at Chelsea (or be loved as much) as he does with us, is if Textor decides to go all in on branding, build a club identity around CG for 10 years, and throws a lot more money in the pot.

It looked very good. I thought the whole crowd really played their part today. Also the 16th minute celebration / display was also very loud & lively.

McArthur when fit will get his place back and one of the trio will be benched.

Probably, but as we saw last year over Christmas when Roy tried to play Macca every game on 2 days rest between, he's older and just can't do it anymore. He needs his minutes managed. And note he's now coming off a fair bit of injury time which could happen again.
Looks like we may have a decent rotation now and that's a good thing.

Great result, Everton were absolutely awful.

No point waxing lyrical about Gallagher, we all know how good he is by now. I thought Hughes was very good and would love to see a midfield of him, Gallagher and McArthur, would be an absolute nightmare to play against.

Southampton (H), Watford (Aw), Tottenham (Aw) and Norwich (H) in the next 16 days. All potentially winnable games and I reckon if we can take 8 or 9 points we're right back in the mix for a European position.

Weren’t we saying that before Burnley Leeds Villa and Utd? Let’s just enjoy the win and not get ahead of ourselves.

Great to see the boys win ... no lack concentration after scoring this time. Feel that the return of McA will really get us back to dominating midfield and breaking up play for the excellent CG to further terrorise defences

Somebody behind me said Hughes was holding his hamstring 10 mins before he came off. Did anybody else see this? This midfield needs a player who can press and keep continuity going. Hughes made a very positive difference.

It is just nice seeing Palace try to play football. All round good although what a f***up by Ward late on.

He didn't have a lot to do, but I thought our 'keeper made some smart saves, especially with a few of their daisycutter shots skidding off the turf.

Good to Tomkins back on song defensively and also for tucking away the second.

Re CG, credit to Dougie for making the loan deal happen.

I thought the ref did pretty well considering it was a high-temperature match.
