That's nonsense. In my 77 years of experience, which is probably greater than most who post here, I have not before witnessed the type of extreme right wing attitudes now to be found in an, admittedly small, section of society. Most of my time has been spent with people who have held generally middle of the road attitudes, with some leaning left, others right, but with a mainly shared view of the way forward. Maybe they were always there, and it's just the internet age which has allowed them out of the shadows and into public view.

No specifics. Just disingenuous BS. Personally I regard a person who wants to see all religion restricted and basically removed and someone promoting authoritarianism over and above what we're seen....seemingly gleefully hoping for it over a vaccine status. Those are specifics that people can recognise from your posts on here. That's more extreme than anything I've come across. What's different from what the dissentient right say now that wasn't said in the right's past.....nothing.

You didn't see the right rioting in US cities for 18 months and having their criminal activists being released back onto the streets. The dissident right have no power and no political representation, they are harried and persecuted......You have seen them attacked on these boards and called all the names under the sun. The communist party have a headquarters in London.....it's been there for many decades and Labour figures have visited it many times. Police are not sent to its door....no damage is caused to it. Yet if you are on the dissident right, morons send Police to your door if you even mention them and no doubt consider themselves self righteous. Edited by Stirlingsays (03 Jan 2022 7.06pm)

Extreme left wing 'antifa' maybe. I am not discussing, let alone defending, extreme left wing attitudes which I detest every bit as much as I do the extreme right. They though are not evident here. Nor much, so far as I can tell, elsewhere in the UK. I am primarily talking about attitudes, rather than activities, although I disagree with you over the EDL or Football Lads Alliance, who I recall being involved in some pretty unpleasant behaviour. Whether enough to be described as a "riot" hardly matters. No-one is stopping anyone holding opinions. The only issue is unlawful behaviour, which these days includes using "hate speech". That isn't just "hurty words" which is a right-wingers excuse and no reason. It is unlawful. Politics is very far from one-sided. Just look at the current government for evidence of that.

Edited by Stirlingsays (03 Jan 2022 7.06pm) The only people who do things like that are nutcases. Nobody seriously interested in politics would ever do it. We are far too removed from the troubles in the US cities to come to any kind of informed opinion. My instinct is to dismiss the kind of statement above simply because it's the kind of thing Trump used to say, and he lied every time he opened his mouth. I fail to see why the "dissent right" should expect to have any power or political representation unless and until they are strong enough to achieve it the same way everyone else does. Through the ballot box. The communist party is an irrelevancy in the UK in 2022. Right wing extremism is seen as more of a threat than that from the left.

(I bet they read that dopey book) With both of these you are stating the obvious. Of course the name of nutter and criminal fits both but try breaking it down a bit and be more literal.

The guy who is on these boards for years pushing the Trump/Russia conspiracy theory thinks that we are 'too far removed from the troubles in the US cities to come to any kind of informed opinion.'. Honk Honk. 'The only people who do things like that are nutcases. Nobody seriously interested in politics would ever do it.' Yet he's happy to talk about 'right wing extremism' as much as he can.....suddenly it's not 'nutters' but 'right wing'. Honk Honk. Sure, I agree, all those people spraying statues and trying to damage the Cenotaph are nutters. And while I won't call them typical of the mainstream normie lefty they follow the same politics that the left bent down on their knees for.....people were injuried in those British BLM riots, property damaged. If that were true for trouble makers on the right we would hear no end of criticism and no issues with relating it to 'extremism' on the right. The point about the right not having any power or representation is to point out that the level of hate and persecution levelled at them is in stark contrast to those who actually hold much more power and are willing to riot and damage property.....Yet the mainstream will soft ball and knee for....and I might add BLM are funded handsomely. Sure the communist party are an irrelevancy but so are the dissident right, yet one is persecuted and the other isn't. As for 'right wing extremism' being considered the second highest threat....that's probably because the mainstream press are continually overstating the actual threat from them......Now maybe there are actual 'right wing extremism' groups out there posing some kind of threat but I've never come across any personally. If anyone is actually out there planning to hurt people then we all should be against that, left or right. But what I can tell you is that the Times recently did an article on the largest dissident right group and portrayed its running of fitness camps as some kind of terrorist preparation....when I've followed those that arrange them online and know that they are nothing of the sort.....Indeed, there's not one attack from that group and they clearly disown violence.....Yet look at their treatment. Dishonest scare mongering. That group is are persecuted by the mainstream press, exactly because they attack neo liberal politics. In fact if you didn't have these groups the chances of actual extremism would probably be more as they are focused for community and promotion. They literally campaign against anti white politics and European replacement. That's exactly why they are attacked and the Communist party aren't.....I'll say it again, the Communist party get a nice headquarters in London, have been visited by Labour officials who have given talks and receive no attacks on their funding or operations.

They aren't left, or right, anything. They are just nutcases. People who do stupid things like that haven't got political views that can be taken seriously. So why do you refer to it again? And anyone who grooms and exploits children are certainly criminal nutcases, whatever kind of distorted religious justification they might use as an excuse. Persistently using epithets like "Muslim" or "Asian" tends to distort and encourage a focus on the wrong target. They are evil men, who need to be stopped. We don't need to punish Muslims. We need to detect criminals, using every possible avenue available. Including the Muslim community.

I have removed the bulk of this post as it's not worth a reply. It's all been dealt with before. The above though needs to be corrected. There is a world of difference between what has happened in the US cities and Trump. With the former none of us have any first-hand knowledge. We reply on media reports, which often present very different accounts, especially those from right leaning observers, who have sought to politicise the events. I have heard reports of rightish activists seeking to exploit peaceful protests, alongside looters doing so. Even my friends in the USA don't really know the truth, so how can we? With the latter we have more than enough evidence. Much it from Trump's own mouth and hand. More from Mueller. Still more from his former associates and appointees. The whole world has the evidence of their own eyes and ears. i am not "pushing a conspiracy". Conspiracies are just theories. I know, just as well as everyone else who thinks objectively about this, that Trump was involved in accepting assistance from Russia in the 2016. What's missing is not the knowledge. It's the proof needed to pass over the legal high bar. This though may pass into history. If Trump is eventually brought to book for attempting to illegally overturn the 2020 election then there will no longer be a need to investigate 2016. We'll see.
