I have to say that after watching the rather pathetic resignation speech by Allegra Stratton that I felt rather sorry for her. She was clearly on the verge of tears during it.....now I'm no fan of displays of weakness and she clearly isn't a type of Tory I have any connection to....However I have to say that the amount of abuse she was under is clearly not normal. People see a video of her or Mogg and they think these people represent a type of evil to them and that anything is fair game. They haven't knocked your granny over, people should pull their punches in relation to what's in front of them.....the hatred from the political side who claim to be against 'hate' is there for all to see. I'm never going to be someone who wants speech regulated, in fact we need the opposite.....However, appeals to rationality and proportionality are another and the leftist media and their activists should take a long and hard look at themselves on that. Edited by Stirlingsays (09 Dec 2021 10.21am) Well one's a civil servant.

Still reckon the venal b****** will come through it all but suspect the local election in May 2022 could well be the barometer by which the Tory Party make their minds up about him. Because it will be the Conservative Party who finishes him. Nobody else. Yes, as it won't be the disparate, feckless opposition.

Edited by Stirlingsays (09 Dec 2021 10.21am) As I said up the thread, I felt pity for her as she hadn't done anything wrong. She laughed at the awkwardness of a mock interview. Hardly resignation stuff. The tory press and even the BBC wrongfully characterised it as joking about the party but it was hardly that. This clip was released by the party to deflect the problem onto a few naughty staffers in order to distance the problem from the Cabinet and then chuck this poor woman under a bus as scape guy. She didn't organise the event and wasn't even there. She didn't lie to Parliament. I wonder if any MPs were there? Steve Barclay? Politics can be very ugly.

Yes, as it won't be the disparate, feckless opposition. The 1922 Ctte has apparently started getting letters. I very much doubt any action will be taken against Johnson until after the next set of local elections if they indicate a threat of losing next General Election. Personally I can't stand him now .
Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance. |

Gengis Khan fathered how many kids from how many women ? Boris would need to do some catching up. He will never achieve a Khan level of fatherhood. What about setting the ambitions a bit lower ? Say, Idi Amin ? Edited by PalazioVecchio (09 Dec 2021 11.31am)
