Is it just me or would anyone else like to see Bruce sacked, Newcastle flapping until the January transfer window, paying top money for 'past-it' players and ending up relegated for at least one season. I would love it :-) Just like QPR

If they sign three good quality players they will have enough to stay up. Their issue has been outside their starting XI their squad is weak and so with Wilson seemingly unable to stay fit and Saint-Maximum regularly picking up injuries they have struggled. Of course I hope that this isn't the case and they take £200m of new players into the Championship as that would be a thing of beauty to see! My wife (who knows nothing about football) asked why footballers would want to sign for them given their new owners. It is a reasonable question and it will be interesting to see if any players do turn them down for that reason. These days players seem more enlightened on issues of equality and human rights and so maybe some will turn them down. Time will tell.

I am a cynic it's just another bargaining chip for the player as in "I don't want to move away from London cos of my sick mother, but a big pay rise may ease the pain". Already a alphabet soup group oop north have praised the takeover as they believe it will help gay rights in Saudi Arabia? Are they serious. Edited by Badger11 (11 Oct 2021 7.54am)

Edited by Badger11 (11 Oct 2021 7.54am) You're probably right about money buying people out of their morality clause. Imagine next year on September 11th when Newcastle get told to remember 9/11 at their game. The Saudis will probably bring balloons, party poppers and a cake. I think NFC's Pride group's response was lame. They should have said that they will continue to support the club and it's fans but taken the opportunity to publicly and roundly condemn the club being sold to a regime that persecutes, tortures and executes LBTQ persons.

Maybe they'll build a statue of him Edited by taylors lovechild (10 Oct 2021 10.20am) Yes, thank you for sharing that Athletic article Braunston, very interesting indeed.

Agree, would add the thought of Bruce getting a reportedly multi million pound pay off is beyond words. There truly is no other job where failure leads to further riches. Bruce has never been successful in any managerial role Originally posted by Badger11

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance. |

Good luck to them, They have still got one of the worst playing squads in the league and can't get reinforcements for 2 1/2 months. A manager standing on a trapdoor and a aquad full of players who know they will be surplus to requirements in the summer. A rather nice toxic cocktail. What price Rafa to be their next manager?

Much was made of his love of the city of Liverpool and its people, so I just don't see him going anywhere, at least not this season. Personally I hope they wrestle Potter away from Brighton (who would then likely turn to Eddie Howe), but with their current squad I don't think he would be a good fit. I have a funny feeling they'll move for Brendan Rogers who probably knows Leicester will never have the resources to challenge for the title or in Europe. It will be interesting to see what comes out in the wash. Are they struggling because of Bruce, or are they just sh*t? Will the takeover lift the team and get them playing better, or will it unsettle them and see them spiral downwards. However much money they have, if they're in the bottom three in January they may struggle to attract the star names the fans are expecting.

Barcelona linked but the Toon now have loads more money. Although, he does seem to like a tan.

EH has already stated he wants the Soton job, as n when it becomes available. Tho, IF & its a big if, he went to Br1-3ton, would be great to see them slip quickly down & sunk without a trace. Just my hopeful, wishful, expectation i suppose.
