I know it sounds ageist, but the rollercoaster ride now feels more like travelling on the pavement in a pensioner buggy.

Enjoying getting up later and not having someone who knows better than me (apart from the missus of course). |

Equally intriguing what Harris and Blitzer want IMO. I don't think it will just be SPs decision. I cannot wrap my head around why people think Lampard or Howe would be a good fit for us. As every Chelsea game passes Lampard's inexperience is being exposed. Howe got relegated with a team that couldn't defend, the first rule of football, despite spending. They also managed one shot on target against us over two games. He got schooled by Roy. Why? I don’t think H&B have any interest in Palace at all. I reckon they bought without seeing and were shocked onarrival at SP. They need to sell up and mov on.

I’d suspect they’re very interested at this point in us not getting relegated. So it makes getting rid of Roy even more daft. FWIW, his "basic confirmation" that he was staying seemed to coincide with an insinuation of some more investment.

The biggest issue with Roy is his age. At 75 managing a top premier club must be quite a challenge. I just hope he carefully considers this for his own good. Edited by dreamwaverider (09 May 2021 4.15am)

Hodgson has literally made me lose interest in watching the team I have loved since forever and the only way I'd want him anywhere near it next season is if Lampard has a chance of getting the job.

Our managers job has been purely to keep us in this league, entertaining fans comes last especially faced with the problems he has on the pitch.

Oh! Joe. How very un-Palace of you. Roy may be frustrating sometimes with his team selections and late, even inappropriate, substitutions. But you can't deny he has kept us in the Premier League for a record period with very little financial resource at his disposal. And he cares about the club as a supporter from his childhood. For all his quirks, I much prefer him to a foreign import with no interest other than developing his own career. So, Joe, have a little love for Croydon Roy.
Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled. |

Roy appears to be happy to follow a Parish agenda to simply keep us up without any significant funding in the transfer market.

Had to laugh at an article in Sunday Times today by Rod Liddle (always a good read): Commenting on the revamp of the FA's three lions emblem he says: (quote) 'A better makeover, and more representative of our national team, might have been a depiction of an overpaid,semi-literate, dilatory half wit looking unconcerned as Iceland score their second goal' A trifle hard on you-know-who but funny ...
