Typical BBC blame Brexit and for very average EU players that is true they wont get a visa.

The alternate theory is that clubs are really feeling the financial pinch and do not want to go bust. The smart move is to wait until the summer when hopefully the financial implications are clearer.

It may be that salaries and transfer values will fall as it is a buyers market so unless necessary why buy now when you could get cheaper later.

It's why I am not bothered about some of our players being out of contract. We maybe be planning to let them go anyway and if not I expect most will be offered less than today.

Perhaps we could take them to the beach and drive off and leave them there, like people used to do with unwanted dogs?

Otherwise someone will have to want to buy or borrow them, or we will have to pay up their contracts, which will not save us any money at all.

A crap striker is not just for Xmas but for 5 seasons........

Allardyce said the other day that because of Brexit some deals they were looking at couldn't happen. As it stands, it is smaller clubs like ourselves that stand to potentially lose out more as we often have to look for potential in players like Jach and Sorloth, but those players may well not get in now with the new points based system (maybe it is a good thing after all!) Like much of Brexit it is hard to tell what will be a positive and what will be a negative as nothing seems very clear as it stands. Given the impact on clubs finances, it is obvious that COVID is also having a severe impact, but there isn't really much to say on that which isn't already obvious. What appears to be a great deal for Mateta is, however, probably borne out of the state of play, so maybe there is some light in what is a very long, dark tunnel.

I would hope we are in for a loan deal for Maitland Niles, he could come straight in the team, either right back or right midfield and would be massive quality boost.

Seems Big Sam/Baggies are already negotiating a deal with the 'arse' for him.

This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise.

It also seems he has "other options". Hopefully one of them is in South London.

Whenever I have seen Maitland-Niles play I have not been impressed.
He was certainly very disappointing when we played Arsenal recently.

Lingard to West Ham. Another one that could have helped us goes to the Spammers.

Jesus, its Jesse Lingard. He would have been a waste of money.

More important than adding to the squad in the window, change of attitude and set-up.

I’m sure we can’t have another loan as we have two already- Batshuayi and Mateta.

It’s a shame though as I do like Maitland-Niles’ style and versatility.

It’s a loan ffs and he could hit the ground running, more than adequate temporary cover in an area where we currently have very little.
