For those asking about numbers then these 7,000 and families should be accepted straight away. [Tweet Link]

Yes, agreed, but note the part where it refers to ‘some’ money being made available from central government. The problem will be passed onto cash-strapped councils who will have to make difficult choices doubtless resulting in hardships for locals. So, ALL of the subsequent costs should be met by central government. For those asking about numbers then these 7,000 and families should be accepted straight away. [Tweet Link]

the Tories are planning to open the doors to Afghan Refugees. Recent history suggests the group with be overwhelming young men of military age. Mostly from certain religious & ideological backgrounds. Well, i guess we could do with a few more of these ? Accepting that Afghan refugees is now a done deal. Which country should be our next source ? Egypt ? Morocco ? I am hearing troubling stories about human rights in Saudi & Turkey. Maybe we can act as a pressure-release valve for those countries ? TBF I don’t think they will be necessarily. If they follow the Syrian model, there will be a vetting process. Personally I sincerely hope priority is given to those who worked for the forces (and their families) as I fear for their lives. What people don’t seem to realise is that in the villages/ small towns of pakistan and Afghanistan, everyone knows everything about everyone, no doubt those that had been allied employees will be pointed out by those who don’t want to upset the Taliban. Uncle Joe could have taken this into account when digging out the Afghan soldiers, who have been left high and dry with no command. My thoughts are with them. The statistics are up. But most people don't get statistics. Keep watching the football and drinking your beer instead. Meanwhile the focus of 'Defence Forces' seems to be on the borders with Ukraine. The bloke in the link argues using Facts. Increasingly its looking like a criminal act to do so.

The numbers coming here illegally are staggering and he's right to question why we are sending troops to another country to protect their borders when we need to protect our own. He also mentions hotels being used to house some of them. Well, my wife came home with a story the other day about a friend with relatives who had booked a hotel for a wedding only to be told to find somewhere else because they had been commandeered to house immigrants. Country's gone bonkers mate.
Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled. |

Just how long have the Tories gone on about this issue without being honest to their base? It's like Cameron's under 100,000 or Brown's British jobs for British workers.....lies from the moment it left their lips.

I saw something the other day that is no surprise apparently the Royal Navy will not turn boats back. So yet another taxi service.

Yep, how long have the Tories gone on about human rights law.....well, they use to back in the day. We wrote some of the original laws. If a nation can't defend its borders it's not that much of a nation. Unlike the Eastern Europeans we are known as a soft touch. I wouldn't risk people dying in the sea but I'd be paying Turkey or someone to take them.....And I'd put that message out, come here and be flown to Turkey. And whatever needed to be changed legally to make that happen would be a top priority....years ago. Edited by Stirlingsays (06 Feb 2022 5.37pm)

will the Council be making plans to install more public Urinals Pretty Soon the Ukraine numbers will be up ? surely it will be a different scenario ? especially considering these Refugees are genuinely escaping a real War. The Women & Children arriving into the UK. Like so many casualties of War as portrayed in Picasso's Guernica painting. The men stay back in Ukraine to fight to save their nation. Real men. So now we are getting Mexican’s claiming asylum! Cheap flight from Cancun and easier than the Mexican/US border.
