More worryingly the journalist who interviewed him is under investigation for not questioning Starkey’s assertions. I didn't know that - utter madness.

People aren’t trying to change everything, it’s about wanting equality. Racism is an issue it’s not really trying to change the history of the country. Also it’s not just people that have moved here, there a plenty of people that are an ethnic minority that were born here including myself So how do you feel about all those terrorists in Bristol tearing the statue down? I for one call that a crime yet no one was charged. Also Shifty, I would be interested to here your view on the Twitter post that the Everton fellah did when he went to PSG with a picture of a baboon. Bolasie replied with 3 baboons. Now we can’t have it both ways can we? Or can we? My latest take is that the whole race issue thing wants its cake and eat it. Personally I feel the whole thing has been totally over egged. Most of us have left the racist thing behind ages ago. We all should move on positively and stop drawing attention to it. Like when Sterling just laughed at the Chelsea.

Yes. No idea who the interviewer is but the implications for other journalists are worrying. I can see your point. However, I was talking about Starkey's point about accents. In this interview on slavery Starkey says, (that it can't be described as genocide) as 'so many damn blacks survived'. I believe I can see his point, as I am a historian who has met him a couple of times, but it's an unfortunate choice of words, considering the political climate today.

He isn’t wrong there, but might be in however many generations time. But we mustn’t correct or offend children now should we?

Even white people. I’m talking about groups focusing on ending discrimination for their own race. White people aren’t discriminated against to the same level

With respect, its a problem for blm, not anyone else, blm make it a problem by demanding this, that & the other. In the UK, you have, probably, the most racially diverse country on earth, BUT, blm want to expunge history, laws, policing & national identity. If they dont like where they live, fcuk off, same as many others have including myself, mainly because of the way the UK is heading. Just because this is a racially diverse country, it doesn’t mean that there isn’t any racism. They don’t want to expunge history, they want more black history to be taught. They want to change policing because the police have a history of being unfair to ethnic minorities and I don’t see how they want to change national identity

Firstly how is that terrorism? They took action though as the statue was of a slave owner, as they felt it was disrespectful, however I don’t approve of doing stuff like that. Haven’t seen the Twitter post, so did he post the baboon picture instead of himself? I would love to move on but I feel like ignoring it won’t make the problem go away

Positive discrimination is happening here and now. Check out the media for the evidence. Not racism but discrimination over colour. Is one worse than the other?
