But were they all travelling together, given that Trippier and Sancho will at some point have come from their respective European clubs and will have to go back to them? I'm pretty sure that Bats (and for that matter De Bruyne, Aldeweirald, Trossard, Dendonker etc.) will all be exempt. Edited by doombear (09 Sep 2020 12.24pm)

Last time he came to Palace, he was on the bench in the first game and came on late in the game and scored - against Fulham. Would not surprise me to see a repeat scenario on Saturday. Fair enough, but as he hasn’t signed the dotted line yet. Isn’t all this talk of him turning out at the weekend a bit premature? At any rate no one can claim Roy , doesn’t play newcomers as a matter of fact.

Was underwhelmed with Batman, last day hat trick saved his stats, luxury player who doesn't want to challenge and runs around even less than Benteke. Happy to be proved wrong. I saw some stat that said Jordan Ayew was number 1 by miles across the league for closing down players or something similar. Problem was, most of the time we would win the ball back and then have no-one anywhere near the penalty area. Arguably, a Morrison goal-hanging type is more along the lines of what we need. With Zaha, Eze, Ayew, McArthur, Milivojevic (or similar), you'd hope the defensive and creativity work is covered. Edited by ambrose7 (09 Sep 2020 12.12pm)

Watched the highlights of the Belgium v Iceland game. Batshuayi showed himself to be a proper CF. first goal - keeper spills a shot and Bats is there to roll it into the net.

£20m seems a bit high for a reserve striker with one year on his contract especially as he started out at £35m. Looking forward to seeing him back but a bit hard on Ayew.
Enjoying getting up later and not having someone who knows better than me (apart from the missus of course). |
