And Steve Parish slightly back-tracking on what he said the other day , about 'we can finish the season'. errr, actually, maybe we can't. "Crystal Palace chairman Steve Parish says that unless Premier League clubs can find a way to stage matches soon, it may be a “very, very extended period” before the top flight returns. Speaking on BBC One’s Andrew Marr Show, Parish said that initial plans for league matches to be staged again from June may prove unfeasible. “We would be derelict in our duty if we didn’t find a way to try and bring the game back,” he said. “It may prove beyond us.” (BBC wesite) No 5hlt, Sherlock ‘May’ and ‘maybe’ being the key words. He and they are trying. Unless people would prefer not trying at all and pointing the finger if or when some serious problems surface.

Brighton players being reported as having Covid 19. I'm sure that it's genuine and unrelated to them not wanting to play the season out.

Agreed. Treat them as injuries, didn’t hear any sympathy from Barber when Palace had 9 first team injured Didn't the entire Spurs team get food poising the on the final day of the reason one year? As did fat Ronaldo the night before the World Cup final in Paris against France? I still stand by the reason, not playing, or not attempting to play, has far less sporting integrity than finding a way for a game to go on. Fan's don't want to see their teams relegated, but they would also like to see their team play. What's the point in supporting a football club that doesn't play matches? At some point, organisations will start suing each other. Broadcasters are going to attempt to claim damages from the Premier League. If the Goventment bans all matches, then the PL can claim the clubs were dischaged of some of their contractual duties through impossible performace, probably citing cases from WWII as the precident. Teams below the football league probably don't have Broadcasting deals, which would make it easier to cancel the season. As the government have not banned PL football the PL's members will need to come up with a system that works to try and get to the end of the season. I think the majority of the 20 members of the league are in a place where they'd like to work something out but the teams just about the relegation places are likely to be the most resistant of this and will drag their feet until it's too late. Would be nice to know if the Broadcasters had any kind of leverage over the clubs dragging there feet. Prehaps the threat of withholding money from now until the end of the season will be enought to kick Brighton/Watford/West Ham into action.

The most famous incident is probably Middlesbrough not turning up at Blackburn being then being docked 3 points and relegated! There was this article the other week saying clubs wouldn't lose money but who knows .. The TV deal will probably be discussed this week too in all this.

In all fairness, no one should ever go to Blackburn. Its main claim to fame is being a slightly better place than Bradford. But so is Chernobyl.

If the season finishes now with no relegation but Liverpool awarded Champions then I would think that the clubs at the top of the EFL could argue that is selective and not fair. Any outcome must not favour a select few.
