A couple of general points.

Chelsea are playing with Zouma and Tomoria, a couple of not very good 22 year olds, yet they gave us Cahill for free. Madness.

Away points in 2019: 1st Man City 33; 2nd Liverpool 30; 3rd Palace 25.

Life is good.

Cahill nailed on for player of the season already. Why Arsenal took Luiz instead is one of life's mysteries.

Great keeper now hes found his feet.

Half the battle of goalkeeping. Make the difficult look routine.

Great save by Guiita , Not.

You've got to be kidding.

I only saw John Jackson play against us for Orient. But in view of the advances in the game generally Guaita is the best keeper I've seen in the Palace shirt.

And didn't he do well taking on the Captain's roll?

He was very vocal at times and looked a worthy replacement for Luka

i loved the fact that afterwards he ushered all the players over to the away fans to applaud.

Yeap totally agree Becky,Cahill is more than capable of taking the captain's roll.

He plays with so much confidence and dare I say it a touch of arrogance.

...I was invited to Spurs’ AMAZING new stadium and watched Bayern Munich score more goals in ninety minutes than we had scored in seven Premier League games!
But tonight...what does that matter?
What a start to our season!
Confidence is growing and I sense this year’s squad fears no one.
Wonder what we will learn by 5pm next Saturday?
As MB wrote to me tonight...”Come on”
Top ten finish...who knows, but the ride, as always will be fun.

Back from the game...

Great Palace support, even though the layout of the London Stadium is terrible from a football fan perspective.

Thought we generally were in control of proceedings, but West Ham did always look dangerous when in and around our box.

Cahill immense and gives us leadership that we haven't had for some time. Ayew was such a hard worker and took his goal well. I know our transfer dealings have generally been dire but in these two we have struck gold.

Was always confident in Van Aanholts penalty as I think he is probably the best finisher in the club.

Will Luka come back for the next game ? I'm not so sure.

Luka will without doubt return next week and rightly so.

Agree mate, did so well to sign Cahill and Ayew for a combined 2.5 million! Great business.

Arsenal never had a choice to take Cahill. He came to us because of Roy. He won’t be getting budged out of his place now. He calms the whole team down around him.

As much as it pains me to say it, Schlupp was very good today. He seems to be just doing the simple things right now and Andros will struggle to get back in.

Roy has a big decision to make now with James McCarthy. I thought he was excellent but Luka is definitely going to come straight back in.

Some massive games against the top 6 coming up but we are more than capable of picking up a decent amount of points.

Roy's a master at this. Must seriously p1ss teams and fans off when they're playing mighty Crystal Palace at home and watch us play keep ball in our own third.

I don't understand the anti and boredom stuff. The football under Pulis and Allardyce was pathetic by comparison.

Considering the team facing us today and their recent performances we passed the ball around brilliantly and bossed huge parts of this game ..the winning goal was something of beauty and the fact that VAR had to study it showed it in all it's glory, Mr Hodgson is an outstanding manager getting almost the very best out of all his players.

I was astonished by the passing display, something that I haven’t seen since, eh, I can’t remember. I don’t know what has come over the team.
