What's particularly curious is the complete silence. Normally we're at least being linked with or quoted as chasing certain players. Okay, we never actually get them but this year it's just dead quiet.

Have you ever gone on lunch break and forgot there was something really important you had to do when you came back?

I've had enough of this each transfer window, I'm off to watch Chelsea, I started watching Palace back in 1958, I'm running out of time to watch a winning team so Chelsea here I come.

Glory hunting plastic.

No signings today and no signings tomorrow....

With pre season well underway, how the hell are we supposed to prepare a team before the kick off in August. Our complacency is breathtaking, to sell our right back with nothing lined up is complete madness.

As we are moving into the trading top players game we do need to reconsider our current buying strategy of last day of window. As someone rightly posted we need incomers to tune in. OK £50m was too good to turn down for Wan plus we would have needed to pay him £4m/year. But with him gone and Bats gone we need replacements. We all know without those 2 we are bottom 6 material.

21 days left to complete transfers, lot to be sorted

“That’s a joke son, I say, that’s a joke.” “Nice boy, but he’s sharp as a throw pillow.” “He’s so dumb he thinks a Mexican border pays rent” “ “Son… I say, son, some people are so narrow minded they can look through a keyhole with both eyes.”__ Forhorn Leghorn

I usually get really eggy with 2 weeks or 1 week left.

We actually do have a full 11 to pick and no I don’t expect or want us to sign CB’s due to a short term injury crisis.

You mean you normally want us to shell out?

There hasn't been that much transfer activity across the board in the PL and as ever a plethora of deals will be concluded late in the window.

All the activity has occurred in the lower divisions as clubs snap up Free transfers. This appears quite normal with clubs in lower tiers moving with some alacrity to purchase players on the released list. Thus far, Northampton have signed 11,Gillingham 9, Shrewsbury and Tranmere 8, MK Dons 7 etc.

As usual, across all divisions the deadline day deals will be quite extensive with some concluded in the dying embers.

We are about 5-6 squad players down on the end of last year. Add in Tomkins and Sakho injured. They won't be match fit for awhile, so we are defensively threadbare with any other injuries.

I did think there was a possibility that we may get 2-3 squad players at least in early to cover the gaps, but once again it seems we are risking it all to the last week.

New players either won't be match fit, or take time to bed in. This is what i thought pre-season was for. Another poor start seems likely, with then us trying to play catch up.

I really can't understand the logic.

It’s been effective in so far as we’ve not been relegated. I don’t like it one little bit and nor do anything however long at the start but f the season.

If Everton at home is cr@p I might miss some of them.
