The forward line were excellent today. However the defence were very poor and if Cardiff had taken their chances it could have been a different story. I’m afraid Kelly and Ward are only championship players and should never have been offered extended contracts. Another example of poor management by SP/RH although the financial position of the club to buy replacements doesn’t appear great.

We are fortunate to have the likes of Kelly and Ward in our squad who when called upon give their all.

Considering three of our defence haven’t been first choice most of the season the last few weeks have been brilliant.

Thoroughly entertaining game, great performance, especially going forward. Loved the movement up front. Cardiff did well to stay in the game considering how much we dominated. Playing with just James and Milo in the middle was always going to leave us a bit more vulnerable, but it was worth it to see how dangerous we could be with a front 4. Four wins from last 6, 29 points away from home. Well done to Roy and the lads, great season.

How anyone can criticise award or Kelly is beyond me, over than the own goal had good games. Ward is a class option to have as backup and i much prefer him at left back at the moment to Van Aanholt

And if we did buy replacmerts we would still need Kelly and Ward for the bench, or would you just hope we don't get any injuries for the season

I know that footie is all about "if only", however if only we'd secured 6 points from the 4 games against Brighton and Southampton, instead of just the 1 point, we would now be in with a shout for 8th place on the last day.
Palace since 19 August 1972. Palace 1 (Tony Taylor) Liverpool 1 (Emlyn Hughes) |

One of our best performances of the season every time we went forward we looked like scoring. That was Andros best game ever in a Palace shirt it was great to see him take players on and beat them. Zaha unplayable he shut those Cardiff fans up good and proper. Only area of concern was our defending at set pieces where we looked a bit shaky but overall a brilliant performance Was pleased to hear Roy in the interview after admit that our home form needs working on and it sounds like they will be working on this in due course.

Some players seem to fall out of favour. Ward has been very unlucky not to play with Wan Bissaka’s talents emerging. He can play across the back four and is an established premier league player. Kelly has been solid since the centre back injuries and never last us down. Not sure what we want from our squad players. Next people will be saying that Dann should move on... We did have difficulty with set pieces but Cardiff who needed to win and were always going to do this. Given it was their last throw of the dice we coped well and understandably exploited the space they left. Good game to watch as Cardiff had to attack and we also wanted to play fluent football.

Would still play him at LB over PVA though.

Absolute rubbish as usual. Kelly and Ward are loyal servants who don’t moan about being squad players. When they are called upon they have never let us down.

There is a lot to be said about good squad players who work hard and wait their chance. We talk about strengthening our squad but how many quality players would come to palace as a backup and not complain? If you're at Man City or Liverpool you may only play 7 PL games but that's enough for the chance of a winners medal plus various cup runs. We can't offer that so managing and rotating a squad is quite difficult and yet Hodgson seems to have a happy squad.
