The over ambition in the past came from people who spent more money than they had.

That will not happen at Chelsea or City and it wouldn't happen at Palace with the right owners.

I didn't think this was a difficult concept.

Its not a difficult concept, its an impossible one. Please show me a billionaire anywhere that is willing to plow his money in Palace.
No? Thought not. Your argument is all based on dream land, pie in the sky bollox. You talk complete nonsense.

I think the Americans have realised how difficult the Premiership is financially. Following the Leicester and Burnley wins our relegation odds increased to 200-1 and they put the club up for sale.
Makes sense commercially but has possibly backfired on the pitch as we are playing like we can’t be bothered any more. I reckon Roy will pack in at the end of the season as well- it can’t be a good job when the owners aim for a 17th place finish with the minimum possible squad investment every year.
Last 2 seasons we are relying on Chelsea surplus players on loan to survive and then they return to their parent club- pretty awful for fans.

I genuinely have no clue as to how you reason this.

You have no idea who would buy the club if it were available.
Was it Pie in the Sky for Chelsea or Fulham?

It is highly possible that a very rich owner might wish to purchase a club in one of the richest sporting leagues in the world.

Impossible my arse.

We have rich owners, the yanks aren't short of a few bob, but don't wish to part with it. This is fairly common with a lot of very rich owners of clubs down the leagues, surprisingly the majority are now owned by foreign million and billionaires.

Example of Pompey owned by Michael Eisner the Disney billionaire, he doesn't seem to be ploughing money in, just bought it as a play thing for his sons.

Finding a billionaire throw money at Palace, I would think is an impossible task, they prefer to take money out.

No it wasn't, again showing how little you know. Khan bought Fulham having been courted relentlessly by Mohammed Al Fayed. Fayed himself was offered Fulham at a knock down price when they were a low league club.
Abramovic had been looking for a London club to buy and make great for months before he bought Chelsea and was actuall set on Arsenal to start with. Both were attracted to the fact they are central city clubs, in fashoinable parts of London and right on the river.
It really is incredible that it needs to be spelt out to you that Croydon is NOT Kensington! Wake up!
If you dont support Palace you are unlikely to find the club an attractive proposition to pump hundreds of millions into. WE love Palace because we grew up in the area, our parents are/were supporters or we have some other close affiliation to the club. To attract a billionaire they would have to have the same/similar connections (they would have come forward by now) or the believe that they can make the club a super power which we all know is way way too difficult to achieve if you dont truly love the club.

And I am not going to list the dozens of reasons as to why its way too difficult to achieve, I cant be bothered and if you think about it instead of thinking that money is the answer to every problem you'd work it out for yourself

So your reasoning is that super rich owners only buy clubs when they are in a posh part of London and that money doesn't bring you success or build stadiums.

Don't tell Wolves.

Jim Ratcliffe said recently that there's a point when the extraordinarily rich can afford anything they want, and so the decision making may be a little different - particularly if the intention is to have a bit of fun and back the America's Cup project as in his case.

Spot on. Why does anyone think Abramovich has ploughed millions into Chelski ? Yes because they had the potential to challenge for silverware but also because of location. Doubt whether he has been beyond Battersea in his life.

I’d rather he built a wall in front of the goal we’re defending.
