No messing about worrying about scenarios and what ifs. Take each game as it comes, two week break post Watford, no excuse not to have a full strength team out. Let's go at them

Utter f-1n tosh! These are exceptions, not rules. Watford, Everton, Villa, Hull, Newcastle, Man City, Forest, Sheff Wed, Middlesbrough, Southampton, West Ham, Stoke.....all contemporary losing finalists, all didn't get relegated.

Qué sera, sera....

With the greatest of respect I was highlighting teams that reached the FA Cup final and got relegated in the same season.

I certainly would not wish this scenario to unfold in respect of our beloved team.I have been perfectly clear that to 'Yours Truly' survival in the PL is more important than either reaching the FA Cup final or winning it but I accept some others have an alternative viewpoint.

The Most convincing argument for the FA Cup I have read here!

The only this it does not address is the 'distraction' Element. Having 'One eye on the cup' is not a good way to garner points from a League game in this division. Like it or not, the best Way to progress as a club is to bring in the money that the Premier League offers. To win the FA Cup at the expense of the Premier League survival is short-termism and where it will benefit the Fans and give them 'those Wembley days', it'll do more damage to the club in the long run if that means relegation to the ultra competive and far Less lucrative Championship.

I am all for the FA Cup, It can do wonders for moral and gives the 2nd string a chance to impress - which can only be good for cometition. But would take PL survival first any day of the week.

I agree. But what I said was cup success inspires success in the league. Positive feedback! Have both.

Not at the risk of relegation.

In the real world, it is difficult to know where to strike the balance.
We are in the quarterfinal and yet not safe by any means with the disadvantage of fixture alterations.

We are already taking on extra risk. If we make the final and stay up then great but if we go down then ten cup finals will not make up the loss of income and players.

Is the right answer. We don’t know the state of play in the league at the time of the QF until it’s time.

Aside from United or City the worst draw we could have had.

They're safe, been strong at home all season, cynical and can bully teams when they want and have Delofeou and one of the best GKs in the prem.

Also been good at the mind games with our best player. Unless we find eight or nine points between now and the game then it's hard to feel we can have a proper go at it.

Going out of the Cup is not shameful. However taking one or, preferably, three points from all matches before we go against Watford will allow a more relaxed approach, with some of the players that Watford do not know how to wind up taking the abuse (and with the help of VAR assisting the ref in his search for his Red Card) before substitutions at sixty minutes of players held back for giving their all for thirty or sixty (hopefully not!) minutes. yer thats right give 2 little clubs as examples who was going down at some point regardless of cup wins, someone points out the ratio is something like 1 in 40 go down the same season they reach cup final thats just a wild guess at the figures, which means Palace are next, your reasons are floored more trophy's more support more income, success is based on trophy's, not the fact you have finished 17th every season in the lge,

I want us to win trophys before i die,I have waited 50years for us to win a major trophy, sounds like you and the other bed wetters wont be supporting palace if we go down because you cant see the top players in the other teams thrashing us,support the team not the lge

Grow up.

Just because someone has a different view to yourself doesn't mean that you can be insulting and post rubbish. Willo has probably been supporting Palace through thick and thin for as long as you have

Clearly you are correct, the financial implications of relegation are unthinkable, not forgetting that each extra cup tie drains our players and exposes them to injury!
