Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance. |

We seem to be confusing betting on Palace to go down (which will be long odds) and betting on Palace to stay up (which will be odds-on). If one is convinced we will stay up, the answer is to place a 'lay' bet on us to go down. Lay £8, then if we stay up, you win £8 without having to 'lend' a thousand pounds to a bookmaker until the end of the season.

I guess what makes difference is that there are 3 teams between who has a bad run and Palace has a good run.

With just two points in last six matches, Brighton have worst total in all four divisions. However I think Cardiff have collapsed, and they have a very difficult run-in - so sadly Brighton likely to escape at Cardiff's expense. Brighton home to Cardiff soon - a massive match!

If you lay on an exchange then the liability of a grand you have to have in your account is tied up until the bet (lay) is settled. 2. The difference between laying and betting (backing) on the other outcome is essentially the same thing and exchanges are so efficient that there’s often no difference or very little in it. You can make slightly more using an exchange but you have to subtract the commission and make sure. It also has to have the back price higher than the bookie price, rather than the bookie price hovering between the back and lay price. There also has to be the liquidity (enough punters’ £’s available to match).

I’m waiting to begin a Brighton relegation party thread for as soon as they lose to a Cardiff or Southampton. Their fixture list would make me very concerned.

All I was trying to do was point out to the earlier poster that there is an alternative to handing your cash to a bookie for 3 months. I accept that laying on an exchange puts the money equally out of your reach, but it is still technically in 'your' hands. Also the exchange bet can be closed out should the odds move. They should be feeling confident but they are still (at least) two wins away from being safe. I could see them not winning in March which would drag them back into it again.
