To be fair he just watched possibly our greatest premier league win ever when we turned over man city.

Beating wolves comfortably was a great result and good performance too.

Hodgson is not all bad, but he is certainly not all good. I think that makes him a human being.

When it comes off, like against Pep’s winning machine, it looks great. When we cannot turn over the likes of Watford, things look dire.

Don’t forget though Watford are playing very well this year and the cleverly goal is a freak goal which he will never score again.

We are creating more chances in the last few weeks than earlier in the season, we just have to start putting them away. Zara’s miss was bad but MacArthur’s was absolutely criminal. If one of those goes in and Guaita doesn’t get injured maybe we win that game and we have a different feeling right now,

Roy makes subs like he is in the 60s, but that’s Hodgson.

We will win enough games to stay up, the question for Parish is then can he move the club forward into a more stable phase with less relegation dog fights, which he has been unable to do so far.

A good balanced view. If players get their shooting boots on we would be fine, agreed. Deffo need a new progressive manager and proper scouting team, so there's lots to do

Ultimately, Roy has been a stop-gap. I would suggest a staged changeover before the end of the season with Roy having a say too.
Someone younger is obviously the future. Roy has done okay for us but he will probably want to retire at the end of the season. Would you put yourself through the stress of managing Palace at over 70? He will not need any pushing and will probably welcome news of a good replacement.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

Most managers in the Premier are stop gaps. I doubt if we will ever have a manager last more than 3 years in the near future. Its not a permanent job anymore, but a merry go round.

True but like Watford have proven you don't need one if the club's infrastructure is in place. All you need is a coach to come in and take control of the first squad.

It would be better if we could get someone young on a longish contract and have some kind of longer term strategy.

The last time Steve tried a long term strategy he hired a manager famed for possession based slow build up play, with questionable management skills, to be gaffer at a club based on a counter attacking style with a lot of players who need a cuddle.

Around SE25, the phrase "long term strategy" is about as common to hear as "yeh we got all our business done by Jan 5th" or "we just signed a proven goalscorer".

Trump lost. Badly. Hahahahahahaha.

Iagree 100 % with this post.

Watford seem to change their manager every year and they're still above us.

Wagner is now having a break from the rigours of the PL, suggesting he won't be coming back until the summer at the earliest.

Hopefully we've already had discussions, hodgson can ride this season out and then wagner can come in the summer.

Please god don't suggest Wagner unless you want to watch the most turgid, defensive football since Trevor Francis
