Well, it wasn't the best start for us was it and I feared the worst when Fox was sent off but the other 10 were superb, including keeper McKeown who had another great game, and I really thought that we were going to get you back to Blundell Park as the game went on. Having seen the tackle I've no complaints about the red although if there wasn't VAR he would only have been booked. Must say that I didn't agree with the constant booing of Townsend by our fans after the incident. I must say though that I thought the ref was very poor and didn't seem to give us much all game. Thought it was a cracking atmosphere and it was a decent turnout by your fans too which surprised me a bit. Anyway it was a decent day out and good luck in the next round and for the rest of the season. Edited by Harry Haddock (06 Jan 2019 6.41pm)

Straight red. A horrendous challenge that could have broke a fellow pro's leg. Fox, walk away and think about what you did.

Nobody has mentioned the rain of bottles et al thrown at Andros in the aftermath of the sending off.

I must say I was impressed with your team's organisation and fitness levels, seems you have a star manager in the making. I cannot believe the stick Townsend got, he is certainly not the sort of player that makes a meal of bad (horrendous) tackles.

Red cards should be removed from the game.

Red cards should be removed from the game. A foul is a foul whether it's intentional or not. A dangerous foul is a dangerous foul whether it's intentional or not. Remove red cards and we may as well give up on football and replace it with 'Rollerball', where killing opposing players is legitimate.

A red should become the offender leaving the field of play and banned from playing with no pay for the duration that the severity of the foul warrants, the team should not be punished for an individuals mistake, another player should be allowed to replace him immediately.

I think it was just a bit of over exuberance and all the lads were obviously pumped up at the start. We're not used to facing opponents of the standard of Townsend every week.

Too many games are totally ruined as a spectacle by red cards.
