At 6ft 6 you’d expect him to get something on the corner even if he can’t necessarily catch it. The problem is he’s never had great command despite his size and has slow reactions.

This is getting bang out of order now, grown men posting pictures saying he's a disease for God's sake. Let's just step back a bit and have a think: WH has played very well the season overall, probably due to the competition from VG. He lost his place not through form, but because his colleague got a starting place and kept it. He's had a very tough week, I imagine he's not slept with the media attention. He probably thought he could keep his head down on the bench and keep himself to himself, but no: he was thrown into the game all of a sudden. I've never been his biggest fan and have criticized his performances on here before, but let's have it straight: it's a team game and our top players made misses so bad today it should be a criminal offence. There's absolutely no need to set about him like this. The manager, Jimmy Mac, Zaha, Ayew, let's face it, most of them have bigger questions to answer. Very easy Scape goat, let's be better than this.

Wayne is a good keeper - todays problem wasn't the defence but the woefully wasteful attack.

Mac missed a sitter and we should have been far more clinical generally and yet WH gets all the criticism. Yes he should have done better for the first goal but not the second. We should have killed the game earlier anyway.

I agree. We need to be backing our players at this time in the season. I too am not his greatest fan, however he has been much better this season. The recent events don't help and also coming on part way through a game is never easy. I agree I think the defence looked to lose confidence when he came on, and he was clearly at fault for the first goal, but it is likely he will be playing again for some time so we need to support him and hope he gets his confidence and form back asap. Supporters getting at him will only make things worse. Other players today really need to look at themselves. Zaha cannot keep trying to win the game on his own and the midfield needs a little shake up. I would bring both Meyer and Benteke in for next match for Jimmy Mac and Ayew. We also really need a few new faces in the squad as this should help lift the team further. Anyway, I am confidence of a quick bounce back and 3 points next match !

Great post however, but can't see us getting 3 there.

WH could have done better with their corner .. but he can't be made the scapegoat for yet another lame home display. Is it just me or were all of Watfords free kicks and corners dangerous balls causing us problems whereas all our free kicks and corners were predictable balls floated in and rarely on target and easily defended. Luka takes a great penalty but his set pieces were shocking.

Sorry to say Wayne was abysmal this afternoon ... he didn't move for either of their two goals. Our attack was rubbish and the bit in the middle was a mess too. With a few exceptions, we looked like a lazy, clueless rabble.

His distribution alone makes him an asset, he is strongly two footed and accurate Today wasn’t his day but you could say that of several
