Well I’m happy to hear your thoughts, as you’ve obviously seen much more of him than I have. Out of interest, he’s listed as 5’8” but to me looks much smaller. Do you think he has the physicality for the peek? In the role he played today yes. It’s the closest our team gets to a number 10 in that position. As a holding midfielder, it will never work. Especially not in our team. It’s like putting Ozil, Silva or Coutinho (when he was here) as defensive midfielders but in a team that has a lot less possession, then wondering why they’re ineffective. His agility and technical ability will more than make up for his physicality, provided we use him correctly. It’s disappointing we’ve seen so little of him as a creative force up until now, where let’s face it, it would be very tough for anyone to set the world on fire.

Don't blame the players, we know some of them aren't the best but Hodgson has instilled a very negative mindset in them. He did the same with a half decent England side. Perhaps he has lost the players? Carry on like this and he'll be gone by Xmas.

Lots of areas where the defence and passing could improve but none of us expected anything from this game against a very efficient Chelsea. Still confident come the end of the season we will still be a premier league team. COYP

Time for a bit of positivity, we’ve looked good in spells against both Arsenal and Chelsea. Two more tough games coming up but I believe we have the personnel and management to survive in this league.

Positives, lots of poor teams at the bottom at the moment and is going to be a real scrap down there. COYP !! Edited by Booted Eagle (04 Nov 2018 6.04pm) I reckon we’ll get at least 8 points from 13. Wanna bet? :0)

I wonder what Parish and Brighty say whenever we have a good move and 3 defenders crowd our wide player in possession, in their box, only for our player to square it to where a forward should be, but isn’t, because we don’t have any to play! Happened twice today with PVA and Wilf in good counter attacks. Happened a fair bit this time last year too.

Not our best defensive display but we were playing a far better organised team than all bar a couple of teams in this division. Last season our midfield would have protected the defence better then today. We haven’t yet got it right in midfield and of course we are struggling up front. Those 7 subs Chelsea had would walk into our team, we couldn’t afford them though which is why they are at the top end and we are near the bottom of the prem. We are still better than others in this division and I’m confident once we get a forward in we will stay up. Midfield isn’t as strong as last season yet but we are good enough to stay up (I hope)?

We really haven’t moved forwards since we came up. Look at Bournemouth as an example, they look like they belong in the premier league. They are no bigger than us yet they seem to be on a sound footing. With us, every year is a struggle. I don’t understand it either as we have some quality players. The striker situation is an ongoing nightmare and surely has to be sorted in the next window, otherwise how much longer will we continue to struggle before we fall down.

Chelsea are good for sure but our defending was schoolboy stuff.
